(oooh - this looks so much more fun than studying for finals :D I'm sorely tempted to bring in Rina Natasi's nemesis ... but shan't.)

Name: Subcommander Tenil na'Tatha
Gender: Female
Race: Human (homeworld: Taarin)
Age: 24
Profession: Military - Taarin Ground Specialist (think spec ops)
Appearance: Height - 5'6". Ear-length black hair, blue eyes, two small scars across left eyebrow. Normally wears duty fatigues, but for this event, dress uniform, consisting of deep blue knee-length dress, insignia, yada yada. Carries traditional tassen and Taarin parallel-bladed close-combat knife.
Optional: One of my early RP charries here, for the Reindeer's (I think) SW: Aftermath of War, that went on for about a year. Good times. She served as the liason between her government and the Jedi mediators, and at times wasn't too happy about the way things were going :D Assuming she survived the dire situation the team found themselves in when the RP broke:

Subcommander Tenil na'Tatha stood awkwardly in the center of the room, feeling quite uncomfortable in the archaic setting. She'd been to her share - more than her share, some might say - of formal functions, but this was different. She had no purpose here. Her instructions had been rather vague: to favorably represent Taarin. And that was it.

Well, she wasn't doing much good here, standing in the midst of tapestried stone walls in a dress uniform that held too many memories, and pretending to be surveying the crowd, looking for someone. She began wandering through the crowd, affecting a sense of direction. Finally, on a couch near a fountain, na'Tatha noticed two women, one older, one distinctly younger, who conversed in the guarded manner that suggested that they'd just met. No harm in joining the fun.

Planting herself in front of them, she offered a hand, first to the older, then to the younger. "Subcommander na'Tatha. I trust you're having a pleasant time?"

I think it's probably fine, Eruraina. We're not completely turning the club over to RPing, it's more of a way to show off our characters and interact. It's not like it's going to have a plot, really. It's almost like us discussing our characters, only IN character instead of out :)

Well, if you say it that way... than I'll go ahead and join in!

Name: Arruina Celevonmerin
Gender: female
Race: 1/2 human, 1/2 vampire
Age: 22
Profession: ranger
Appearance: almost waste length orange-gold hair, slighlty wavey, weatherd features. Sky blue eyes with hints of red around the pupil. Full lips, 5'5", physically fit, a far away look in her eyes.
Optional Story: Is a fairly new character in an rpg I made not long ago called "the battle for Namorine and the Soul Crystals" Though, I plan on using her more in the futur.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Arruina Celevonmerin stood in a corner of the room, sipping a glass of rich red wine. It wasn't as good as the wine her step-father made back home, but it was good enough. She wore a deep forest-green, haltertop dress that hugged her torso, and then at a gold belt, reached delicatly to the floor. Matching gloves that reached to her upper-arms covered her hands. And to go with it all, the halter-top dress revealed a tattoo on her chest next to the left shoulder of a silver rose.
Arruina glanced around, looking for someone to converse with. She was used to formal events, her mother and step father being nobles. Three woman were talking together next to a fountain. Two of which were older than her, and one younger. She walked up to them, and smiled.
"I am Arruina Celevonmerin."
Pleasant time -? Merrin couldn't respond in the affirmative with total honesty, but she shook the offered hand anyway. "Ah - aye, I thank you. I'm...Merrin. Merrin Dragonrider."
The two of them, the older woman and the younger (though still, Merrin would guess, older than her) looked somehow similar, though she couldn't have pinpointed how. They both wore strange but obviously formal clothes that Merrin couldn't recall having ever seen before. Admittedly, however, they were not as strange as the winged woman who had entered explosively through the glass a moment earlier. Merrin cast a half-curious, half-apprehensive glance in that direction.
Just then a fourth woman came up to airily introduce herself, as though she did this often. She - that is, Arruina, which was what she introduced herself as - struck Merrin almost instantly as being quite as stunning as she herself was plain. "Merrin Dragonrider," she murmured again with a sort of half-curtsy, a little subdued.
Head cocked to the side with an air of contemplative sophistication, Denaris found himself mentally and shamelessly ticking off the guests as they entered the dining hall. Ugly. Ugly. Boring. Poor. Stenchy. Physically unattractive. Extremely physically unattractive. Boring again... Did this host have no socially acceptable friends? Perhaps he or she was antisocial. Yes, that must be it. Poor thing.
A crash halfway across the hall made him jerk and almost spill his wine. Shards of glass erupted like crystalline rain as, bursting through the window, came... Ah, about time - someone who looked worth his while. Rising smoothly from his seat, he began making his way toward her, before he stopped himself. Too early in the night for this, really. With a wince, he recalled the last winged female he'd rashly approached. He'd been unable to sit on his bum for a week. And while this one didn't look capable of hurling fireballs at his rear end, one could never know with these creatures. Besides, she appeared a bit too succubus-ish for his tastes.
Instead, he began making his way over to a shadowy corner. The lonely soul occupying it appeared to be in need of a friend. And Denaris, quite the jaunty champion of lonely souls, was all too happy to introduce himself. Half-breed, he noted as he approached, without breaking his pace. Wolf and man. A curious juxtaposition. The work of dark wizards, perhaps? Or, yet better, a half-demon? He subtly probed for magical auras that would announce a demonic or similarly interesting heritage but could find none. Disappointed but no less discouraged, he paused beside the half-breed's chair.
"May I?" he ventured, in lightly accented Common. No response, so he helped himself to a seat and appraised his fellow conversationist with keen interest. "A pleasant affair, wouldn't you say?" he continued cheerily, gesturing at the vaulted ceiling and glittering fountains. "A five-year-old could likely do better, but that is, of course, to be expected." He paused. Waited. Cleared his throat. "You may call me Denaris, by the way."
Cu'scath occupied himself with sipping at a glass of wine and watching the party-goers. Some were dancing- a fairly worthless activity, in his humble opinion- while others talked or ate. A handful were already becoming quite drunk.
"May I?" Cu'scath glanced up at an elf, who sat down. "A pleasant affair, wouldn't you say?"
Caught off guard, the half-breed hesitated a moment to take in the newcomer. Elvish, dark hair and robes, probably quite handsome to the ladies.
"You may call me Denaris, by the way."
"Denaris." He smiled politely. "I am Cu'scath. It's good to meet you." Glancing around the room, he said, "It is a nice party, I suppose. It seems rather crowded, but then again, I haven't been to many affairs of this sort." He took another sip of his wine. "So, what brings you here?"
Ruth Ann Underhill remained seated for quite some time skimming over the guests, trying desperately to find someone of some deliquence. After finding one and seeing that she would be able to settle it in front of such a crowd, Ruth Ann decided to turn over a new leaf and look at this party as a relaxant rather than a bother.
Climbing out of the booth, Ruth Ann planted her feet onto the ground, lifted the hood from her head, and shook out her loose curls.
"Where to now?" Ruth Ann muttered to herself while moving towards the fountain to hopefully find some beverage that would provide her a little bit of home.
Suddenly, the lights went out. The intercom crackled to life, and a voice that suspiciously sounded like A One and Only Dictator Whose Word Is Law boomed through the dining hall: "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I hope you're enjoying your evening, phone me if you have any comments/complaints, yada yada. Oh, and someone WILL be replacing that window.
"What I've been meaning to say is HAPPY NEW YEARS. Let the awards ceremony commence."
The One and Only Dictator cleared his/her throat. "Many thanks to all those who nominated and voted. Also, a round of applause for ALL the spiffing rpers we have on this site. It wouldn't have been the same without you, folks. A toast, I say a toast, to a magnificent year."
Jate poked his head through the door, marveling at the party. Marveling, that is, until the lights went out. Oh dear, he thought. Why do I always seem to arrive at the most inopportune moment? Sliding onto a conveniently close bench, Jate watched as awards were presented at the front of the hall.
"...a toast to a magnificent year," the voice boomed.
"Hear hear," Jate murmured, raising a flagon.
((Beatiful awards, dear!! HERE HERE))
Dark Rising looked around when no one spoke to her. She grinned. She figured as much. She looked like some rough young woman that came from a dumpster, or some evil goth teenager that cut herself to have fun.
She was neither.
Dark walked around, her wings pulled back behind her to keep out of the way. She walked gracefully like an Elf (she could fly gracefully as well. Imagine that. eh?) though she was a mere human.
Dark stopped walking and paused in mere thought. She was no human. She was an avian-hybrid bird.
There. That's better.
Dark took a small sip from a wine glass she found and searched the room for someone of interest. She caught two men over in the corner, away from the rest. The one standing...an Elf...caught her eye more than the one sitting. Yet, both of her eyes where caught and before she knew it, she found her feet walking towards them. Well, here goes anything! She thought and nodded at the boys...excuse her, men.
"Gentlemen." She greeted them, her voice sweet...yet, not so sweet. It had an sarcastic edge. A sharp edge at that. "Do you mind if I join you? If not, then I will be on my way...wherever that way is." She added.
((^Not a problem, I just wanted to check! lol))
"Gentlemen."
Cu'scath looked up at the girl who had walked up, taking in the prominent wings on her back. A half-breed? he thought curiously.
"Do you mind if I join you? If not, then I will be on my way...wherever that way is." she continued, thinly veiled sarcasm in her voice.
"Please, sit down." He said, the more human side of his mouth lifting into a smile. "We were just introducing ourselves. I'm Cu'scath." Draining the last of his wine, he set the cup to one side and leaned back in his chair.
*squeeeeee* LDM is awesomeness!
Tenil, upon instruction, clapped and cheered wildly, although she had no idea why. "My sincerest congratulations," she offered to both the ambassador and Merrin Dragonrider - again, someone seemed to be putting words in her mouth.
:D
(Right... I need to apologize for my erratic appearances in RPs and explain that they will continue at least into next week, due to traveling and jet lag and all that great stuff)
Denaris caught a swoosh of black in the corner of his eye, though he waited until the half-avian woman was upon them before looking up. He feigned pleasant surprise, though one may notice that he assumed the expression two seconds after he began rising from his seat.
"My lady," he greeted with a bow and another charming grin - though not without a touch of wariness. This winged one looked young and incapable of powerful magic, but that testified nothing. For all he knew, she could be a millennium old and a tempestuous sorceress. It never hurt to have powerful friends, but it hurt very much to have powerful female companions. His bum was still a bit sore from his last flaming - literally - affair. The half-wolf was being such a bore. This should spice things up a bit.
Dark looked at the two men and thanked the first one...what was his name...oh yes, Cu'scath was him name ot what he introduced himself as. A very nice name, Dark thought.
"I thank you." She told Cu'scath. "I am known as Dark Rising, but you both may call me Dark." She said, putting down her wine. Then, she turned to the man who caused her to come over here. (Ignoring the fact that she also came over here because they where alone and a small group to boot.)
Dark raised an eyebrow when the man bowed, but that was simply to cover up her blush.
Wait...Dark was trying to cover up []blushing[/i]? She never blushed...inside, Dark shook her head. What was the world coming too?
But then, a man had just bowed to her and called her a lady. Dark could get used to that. Yes, yes, she could. She smiled at the man and bowed in return.
"I feel it is my job to be bowing, my good fellow." She said full-heartedly. "You are bowing to no one of....of..." Dark had no idea how to describe it, so she said, "...of fullfilling bowing requirments. To put it simply, you are bowing to a nobody." There, nobody. That would be how she put it. Though, fullfilling bowing requirments was pretty clever on the spot, Dark thought.
She smiled again at the man. She liked him and his style...not to mention that smile...Dark decided to wait and she what he would say back to her.
