Deawen shifted closer to her brothers after killing her fourth goblin. She was spattered in black blood and a single vivid line of red blood ran down her cheek, where a blade nicked her temple.

Lalaith was terrified. Those creatures which appeared from the wood she could only have imagined in her worst nightmare. She seemed to stand in the middle of a story in which she did not partcipiate as the others tried to fight the creatures off. It was almost too late that she noticed a Goblin running towards her. She'd raised her sword just half way when it was only a few feet away, ready to strike; but then a gush of water hit the Goblin, knocking it down.
She looked at her right what the source of this flood might have been and noticed Zekiera, the man she'd met in the forest.
Somewhat more confident, she raised her sword when another goblin attacked and swung the blade forward with all her strength when it was close enough. The blow lacked skill but was effective: the lifeless thing fell down at her feet.
But there were too many.. Lalaith tried to stab the creatures yet she was not experienced nor practised, her reflexes were not quick enough. When she tried to fight off one orc, another would come up just as quickly.
Suddenly Lalaith gasped as she felt a gush of pain in her side.. She tossed the sword to her right hand and her left clenched her side. The world started to spin around her and slowly she stumbled backwards, trying to get out of the reach of the enemy..

Mirima's Elven longbow sang and a goblin fell to the forest floor. As quick as lightning she fitted another arrow into her bow, and one by one more goblins dropped down before they had even reached her. She quickly glanced round at her brothers and younger sister; she noted a red line made by an orc-blade down Deawen's cheek. As more goblins surged towards them, she shouldered her bow and unsheathed her sword, plunging it into the flesh of one of the hideous creatures.

~~~
The clashing of blades was ringing in Ellethwen's ears. She swiftly unshouldered her dark longbow, fitting into it a Lorien arrow. The pounding of unwelcome feet was sounding on the forest floor. "Yrch in Mirkwood?" she said to Taurvantian, before she released an arrow and a goblin, pushing through the trees, fell to the floor. The elven maiden looked at the dead body, no trace of emotion on her face, and set off into a run, hoping her companion would follow.
The very forest around Taurvantian seemed to be quivering with some unknown fear. Something foreign... perhaps something terrible and deadly... was lurking nearby. But this was so near to the court of King Thranduil! Taurvantian's grip tightened on the graceful hilt of his ever-ready sword. The ringing of other swords and weaponry came stealthily upon his ears with their metallic clamor. He walked faster, thankful that the fair she-elf beside him was not traveling through these parts alone.
"Yes, I'm afraid there are yrch in Mirkwood right now," he answered her, unsheathing his curved sword in one liquid motion. He broke out into a run, swerving around the body of the dead Goblin and following after his companion. He tried to get in front of Ellethwen. He felt that it was his duty to protect her from all harm, though she appeared to be perfectly capable of defending herself. His blade sliced nimbly through the neck of the first Goblin that came within reach, and soon he saw a regular battlefield was before him.
Dead Goblins littered the ground, and there were several elves still struggling with a surge of live Goblins. He paused for the briefest moment, looking for Ellethwen before leaping toward her, felling a Goblin in his path.
There was a group of people - elves, mostly - cluttered round Thranduil's lodgings, battling the goblins. Mirima beheaded a goblin in her path and looked around. Where was Ada?
~~~

Ellethwen continued running, swiftly firing arrows when any goblin came near. She did not carry a sword; she only hoped that there were not so many goblins that she ran out of arrows.
She could see that Taurvantian was trying to get in front of her, almost as if to protect her. Noble though this was, Ellethwen paid no heed. She could fight as well as he, though she had a strong distaste for it. Her passion was in the singing of songs and the growing of everything fair in her garden in Lorien. But in times like these, everyone had to carry a weapon.
They came across a group fighting off the goblins.
Mirima glanced as a dark-haired elven maiden and a golden Mirkwood elf rushed into the scene. She paused for only a few seconds before starting to fight again.

Sylied glanced across the battle scene, his eyes taking extra time to take in the condition of his siblings. He steped closer to Deawen, noticing she was injured. "Your hurt," he said, side-stepping an attack and slicing off the goblin's head. "Why don't you take a break from the battle, I'll cover you."

----------------------------------------------------------

Zekiera was slowly loosing ground, his water tendrils being beaten away as dropplets fell back to the ground.
Finally he was out of options. He spun, dove, and wove his way throught he heard of goblins and swinging blades. His acrobatics, however, caught the attention of many of the goblins. Just as he was ready to counter their attack he saw Lalaith fall to the ground as a goblin stabbed her.

Once again he bowed backwards and spun sideways, contorting to avoid several attacks. He jumped up, kicked a blade out of his way and went into a roll, his last water tendrill slicing through a goblin as he came out of the roll.
He ended up at Lalaith's side. he glanced quickly around the batle field, he didn't see any others who were seriously wounded.
Zekiera lifted his arms, his hands and fingers hanging limply and seemingly-lifeless. With a forcefull exhale of air he snapped his wrists and jerked his arms down, creating a circular blast of water that shot out from all sides and pushed back the goblins.
Zekiera then breathed in deeply as his hands and arms flowed elegently through the air in a repetative pattern. The air around him began to grow dark, his breath comming out slowly, carrying frozen ice crystals on it's draft.
In a moments time, before any goblins could make it back to him, the area around him as as black as night. Quickly he grabbed Lalaith and carried her away from the battle, the dark cloud staying stationary and covering their escape.
He looked back, fortunately no goblins had spotted his escape and their ranks were thinning. The elves were much better fighters than he and Zekiera was confident they would drive off the foul intruders.

The sound of battle continued to ring clearly about Gandalf and Maethoriel. Gandalf's staff spun round about them at such a speed that it sung, and nearly no orc was able to escape his sword.

Maethoriel had carved a circle of destruction as the fight continued. Most of her opponents were nearly unrecognizable - she was ruthless in her methods. She spun about to catch on orc behind his neck with her sickle and with a swift kick to his chest beheaded the creature. She spared a glance around the clearing to check the others that were there, most seemed to be well enough off, though she felt she should hardly care - she had to worry about herself.

((I don't think Gandalf had Glamdring yet. He got it when Bilbo & Thorin's co. headed for Erebor.))

Megildurion left his spear in the carcass of a large goblin and drew his short sword instead, dodging blows as he struck. He stumbled as a Goblincut him from behind, cutting the tendon of his heel. Letting out a cry of pain, Megildurion collapsed and did his best to hold off the small group of goblins that remained. "Nai Ungoliant meditha le!" He shouted defiantly, stabbing a goblin in the throat.

(I keep forgetting that this takes place before they retook Erebor. Thanks for that, Tur! I'll fix it.)

Aramel glanced back amidst the fighting to find Ryninial standing weaponless, with two orcs closing in on her. Why didn't she fight? Try to put up any sort of defense? The lady of Rivendell strung an arrow on her bowstring and felled the orc with a shot to the back of the creature's neck, where a gap between the armor and helmet had been his weakness. Aramel reached for yet another arrow, to find her leather quiver had emptied. She replaced her bow with the sword at her side, drawing it from its sheathe with a ring of the metal.

Rushing forward, Aramel met the goblin's blade before it had the chance to strike Ryninial. The goblin hissed and growled like some wild dog, before slashing at the brunette and cutting her hand. Aramel clenched her teeth and stumbled backwards as she was met with an intense stinging sensation. The blade had cut deep, and blood poured from her fresh wound, but she had to make sure this orc did not escape without her revenge. Aramel felt a surge of strength rise from deep inside her as she took the sword in her good hand and hacked at the orc. With a crunching noise, his head was sent flying and the creature's decaptitated body crumpled to the ground in a pool of crimson.

"Ai!" Aramel cried, trying to find something she could use to stop the bleeding. Right now, her sole focus was trying to stop the blood gushing from her hand, but in the midst of a battle it was hard to concentrate only on herself; especially when others too, were getting injured. Glancing around at the company, she realized Aragorn had seemed to disappear into thin air. "Where is Estel?"

--

Talathion was at Megildurion's side almost instantly, helping him to fight the onslaught of yrch. Silently he cursed them, wishing such beasts had never existed. But Sauron's mind only conjured up unpleasant things; unthinkable terrors what were only found in the tower of Barad-Dûr. Now, it seemed, said creatures were spreading, seeking the downfall of every good realm that remained, and their peoples, too.

--

Aragorn ripped his blade from a goblin's throat with a grunt. The creature fell with a choking gasp to the ground, its yellowed eyes cast upward. Turning on his heel, Aragorn felt a pair of eyes on him and looked to his left, where a fair-haired elf was staring, bow raised. No doubt this was one of Thranduil's sons; his youngest. Aragorn opened his mouth to speak, when the elf prince shot an arrow past his ear and into the forehead of a goblin behind the mortal. "Hannon le," he called, hoping the other had heard him.

[[Legolas and Aragorn meeting for the first time so they can eventually be friends/companions. Hope it's okay that I godmodded Legsy, Panneth. :blush: ]]

Lalaith felt that she was lifted from the ground; by friend or foe she could not tell.. Her sight was foggy and she only felt the stinging ache which caused such an agonizing pain that it was hard to breathe. The Rhovanion woman felt her blood spilling throughout her fingers which were clenched on the wound and tried to press harder. She noticed that she was taken away from the battle scene and suddenly everything in her fragile figure started to resist.
"No.. no.." she mumbled. "The Elves.. I need their help. The.. road was far.."

Sylied blocked high, spun and parried low. He side stepped and sliced the hands off a goblin, then dwung back to slit it's throat.

He noticed his own arm had been cut deeply in the fight, but he didn't recall when. it was bleeding, but his light blue elven tunic seemed to stick to his skin and protect the wound.
He went back to fighting. The orcs were slowly depleating and the sight seemed to give him a renewed strength.

He slashed a goblin, ducked and hacked at another enemy until his sword overcame the goblin.

----------------------------------------------------------

"Silence, my friend," Zekiera said in a scratchy voice. "The elves will hear your plee after the fighting subsides, but for now you'r wounds must be tended to or you will die."

Zekiera placed his hands on the ground and sighed deeply. "Forgive me," he whispered softly as a ring of grass turned brown, almost as if the very life had been sucked right out of it.
Zekiera's hands were coated in a greenish-blue liquid salve. he gently placed his hands on Lalaith's wound.
"This will stop the bleeding," he explained.

No sooner had he administered the salve than a goblin noticed the two off to the side and ran at them. Zekiera jumped up and blocked the goblin's sword with his arm brace, spun around behind it then wrapped a strand of water around it's throat. The water began to freeze, it's blue texture turning to a cool white as it encased the goblin's throat. The goblin turned, while trying to get the ice off his throat, but it only expanded, finally encompasing his entire head until he fell limp on the ground.

Zekiera released his grip on the water and it vaporized. He then kneeled back beside Laliath to tend to her wounds as best he could.

Megildurion beheaded the final goblin within that group, and nodded to Talathion through his agony. "Hannon le." He said, stringing his bow and shooting a goblin. "Help me, mellon nin. I can't walk. Get me to a tree and I can still help." He gasped, draging himself on the black-stained grass. "Where is the Army of Mirkwood when it is needed." He hissed, bacing himself on his bow with Talathion's help.

Ryninial felt trapped and all her training as both a fighter and a healer was dwindling quickly as orcs flanked her sides, moving closer with a predatory glare in their sickly yellow eyes. She felt bile rise in her throat at the mere look of them as the stalked her like she was their prey.

Her body tensed and her hands balled into fists, she had no other weapons, but she was not going to let them take her without a shot.

The sound of an arrow sang in her ears and her eyes caught sight of an arrow whizzing past her and striking the orc that was the closest to her. Then from what seemed like no where, Aramel propelled forward and hacked another Orcs head off, no longer was she surrounded and she let out a sigh of brief relief. The yrch were still many, but she had some breathign room now.

"Hannon le mellon. You are hurt... if you'd let me?" She questioned holding out her hand for Aramel to place onto her own as she tore off some of her dress that had torn at the bottom. She had no bandages with her and this would be the best she could do in the current situation.

----------------

Thranduil made it to his palace when he heard the guards talking quickly with one another, he moved closer and asked them what they were conversing about and he soon learned than an orc attack was reigning on their land and his children and guests were in the midst of it.

This angered him and he barked orders at the guards to gather up the men and go out to help.

------------

Legolas felt his blood pumping through his veins, an adrenaline rush some would call it. He had to keep in mind where his siblings were at all times, not wanting them to get too far out of his sight as well as keeping awarness of all the yrch around him. Arrow after arrow sang from his bow, some hit their targets, others didn't, but in the end he was killing the yrch that tainted these woods.

He was quickly running out of arrows and knew he would be weaponless soon. He had not prepared for an attack and had only been out for target practice, so he felt he had no need to be holding his twin knives as well, he now regretted that situation.

Soon he would have to collect the arrows from the bodies hewn and sprawled across the forest floor. Grabbing one of the few arrows left from his quiver, he used it as a spear and shoved it between the eyes of an Orc coming too close. Once the orc feel before his feet he notched the arrow and prepared to shoot when a human got in his way of the perfect shot.

He hesitated and this caused an orc blade to slash his leg, grimacing in pain he let the arrow loose and watched it fly right past the humans ear and pierce into the orc behind the human.

"You idiot." He said in his native tongue to the man before whipping around, golden hair billowing in his wake as he continued to fight. Thankful that the yrch were slowly lessening.

[[I hope this is okay for ya Ara!]]

Deawen touched her face and stared at her hand for a moment as it came back wet with her bright blood. She killed one more goblin before retreating futher towards her brother. She was scared but didn't want to withdraw just yet.

Mirima gazed around. The goblins were lessening. Piles of goblin corpses littered the forest floor, she glared at them. How dare they come here? How dare they try to attack Mirkwood? She hated these creatures more than she could ever have imagined it to be possible to hate something. As a goblin rushed towards her, she released an arrow. It whistled through the air, piercing the goblin's stomach, causing it to fall backwards.

Ellethwen was not too far away from Mirima, firing arrows from the great Elven bow. The last of the goblins were cluttering around the group. "Go back!" Ellethwen called in a commanding voice. "Go back into the darkness that awaits you and your master." There was high-pitched yells between the goblins, and a small group started to rush towards her. When one got alarmingly near, Ellethwen threw back her fist and punched one of the hideous creatures on it's flat nose. It squealed and a shining blade was pierced from behind through it's stomach, and it squawked before falling with a thump to the ground.
Mirima sheathed her sword, which was stained with black goblin blood, looking at Ellethwen, a total contrast to her in demeanor and looks. The dark-haired Lorien elf bowed her head slightly.
"Le hannon," she said. She gazed around the forest. The goblins looked like they were losing the battle. There were too few of them left at any rate.
