Yes, PotR did just randomly wander into Misc. Randomness and go "OMG REUNION THREAD!" (Well, okay, not quite that loudly, but there was visible surprise on my face). Jax now no longer needs to feel like he's the only stupid person who was involved in the planning and everything and then completely spaced out. I feel remarkably intelligent right now.

Right, well, I'm in the special little category of ancient-members-who-are-still-technically-active-but-aren't-well-known-by-half-the-newbies-because-we-only-post-in-a-select-few-areas. (Yeah. You only thought it was as simple as Newbies and Oldies.) So everyone gets to enjoy some About PotR paragraphs.

Hi. I'm pirateoftherings. *everyone stands up and says in monotone: "Hi, pirateoftherings."* I've been a member on A-U since February 14, 2005 (Yeah. I was That Kid who celebrated Valentines Day by joining a LotR forum.) Like several here, I've never officially left A-U and am quite proud of that, but I don't post nearly so much as I used to. These days I'll mostly be found hanging around Sharky's, Green Dragon, Mirrormere, and occasionally the Old Forest. Like Eru, I've been through just about everything in the history of A-U.

As far as RL goes, I'm presently 18 and heading off to college next fall (Baylor University, for anyone who cares). I'll be majoring in Film & Digital Media, something that is indirectly a result of Arweb introducing me to graphic design oh-so-many years back. Still in Texas, though I'll be doing quite a bit of studying abroad after freshman year. My passions are graphic design, photography, music (playing and composing), and anything relating to movies.

Random facts that didn't fit anywhere else

Random fact: I was the first non-moderator to register for the new (this) forum.

Random fact: There was about a 3-month period in which PotR was the top poster on A-U, above even Arweb and teh pheersome Kit.

Random fact: I survived the Great A-U Forum Crash of '05.

Random fact: I once made a boatload of PotC graphics for THE JF because she did not know how to make them yet.

Random fact: I remember when half the oldies were newbies. *sage nod*

It really is awesome to see some faces (or...avatars) from my "generation" back around A-U! It seems like we old oldies are getting awfully rare hereabouts. Sit. Stay. Or Else. *brandishes duct tape*

Anneth: I've been to Croatia! It's very nice there. I'm pretty sure we were up in the northern part, although my dad did travel down closer to the ocean.

Pirate: Hey! Since I haven't been on, I haven't seen you for awhile! Funny how that works. Anyhow. Wow, I'm officially in the "Oldie" group I guess. Or maybe I should make a middle group for those who aren't Oldies, but aren't Newbies either....

I suppose I ought to introduce myself. I'm Elenya, or Lenya if you want to shave off a syllable. I've been around for some 3 years and 6 months, so I guess I count as an oldie. I don't feel much like an oldie, I'm not sure why. I don't post very much these days, but I'm definitely still here! I never have left the forums, and I don't plan of leaving anytime soon. Most of my posts are for RPing (which I have loved ever since I learned about it right here on A-U!), or in the movies, literature, or club sections.

As for a little about me, I'm 19 years old. I have one more semester of college left until I get my Associate's Degree in Marketing and Management. After college, I'm going to work in a national park for a few months. After that, I'm not sure. Erm, I like to read, especially fantasy, sci-fi, and historical fiction. I love music, and have rather... unusual tastes. My favorite genres are Celtic, soundtracks/musicals, and classical. Movie-wise, I like fantasy and sci-fi, and I love me some classic movies. There's nothing like black and white! I used to take piano lessons, and hopefully will be able to start playing again sometime in the future. I love writing. My dream job pretty much = author. I also dabble in graphic-making (an interest sparked by A-U!). I also tend to ramble on if I don't make myself stop, so I will stop there.

It's so great to see some familiar names around the forums! Welcome back, everyone!

Welcome to all AU oldies and newbies!

Well, I think I'm one of the older AU members being around here for more than two years, but still not a real oldie like many of you here.
As I haven't been online for a rather long time, I think I should also post a bit about myself...

Well, I'm Rose of Rivendell and I'm 21 years old. I'm studying law in my 3rd semester now. My hobbies are reading, listening to music and going out with friends. I also used to work a lot on graphics and write some LOTR fanfic in the past, however at the moment I sadly don't have that much time for it anymore. Well, I obviously love LOTR (especially Arwen & Aragorn ). Some of my other favourite movies are Star Wars, PotC, Elizabeth, Gladiator...

I welcome all the new members that I haven't met so far and I send a big hug to all my old friends here.

I hope to be able to spend some more time online in 2009.

It's funny (don't know if that's the right word to use) but most of people's interests & careers have come from AU's interest in the graphics side. I mean i'm doing media & applying for media courses, alot of other people are majoring in graphic design.

I guess I should hop onto the bandwagon and introduce myself... my name is Pandora, I have many a nickname so I shall not delve into those right now... I have been here since 2006, but I have been a part of AU since the first board, I was Melian on the first boards and came here under the same name... but I forgot the password and moved computers and lost everything so I changed my name to Pandora and have been that ever since...

Not much to say about me I suppose, I'm just glad to see a lot of the oldies coming back, I remember most of you

I am still the same Orlando Bloom/Legolas loving fangirl that I was way back when... and I still enjoy making graphics and have come a long way I think since then...

I'm now 20 and studying English Education at College which I couldn't be more excited about... I am also minoring in theatre and hopefully will be able to do something with acting in the future!!!

and I am still married to Glorfy yay!!!

Ooo, seeing all of these lovely old people is so nice! And my absence is evident when I don't recognise some of you.

Anyway, I'm Estë Undómë, otherwise known as EU, Ladybird Lauder or Teh Fwee Queen. I joined up as Evenstar Bearer having recently bought the Evenstar - I was terribly proud. AU was the first forum I'd ever joined and I've 'stayed' on it longer than any other, primarily down to all of the wonderful people. Even now I can't bear to officially leave because I miss you all; my extended absences are long enough but coming back is like going home!

Since bounding into the NC and getting adopted by Pearl Evenstar, obtaining a sister - our dearest Anduril Vanlhach - and eventually getting married, almost 3 years have passed. I managed to accrue 7 AU children and a wonderful collection of friends. Friends who helped me through tough times, celebrated with me through good times, and flounced with me around AU in a whirlwind of randomness! I thank you, each and every one.

I'm now 17, thoroughly deadened by college and have shamefully not seen any of the LotR films for a year or so! Such a scandal! *Slaps wrists* College has, however, kept me insanely busy since September last year and I am practically counting down the days until I can call it quits. My plan is to take a gap year and work in a school for children with special needs, before going on to read English Language (or some variant of it) at university. The long-term plan is to teach English in a secondary school and live happily ever after.

I love to read, the time spent away from college work or the computer is usually spent with my nose in a book. Writing is also a pastime I enjoy, although time doesn't permit me to get my teeth into a decent plot! Photography and piano are another of my pleasures in life, and two hobbies that I pursue ardently. I am, in fact, doing a belated AS level in photography. It's a lot of fun, even if it does take up most of my Tuesday evening!

AU, as you may have noticed, has been put on the back burner. Each time I come back I see a flurry of new faces, and happy people that I don't know and hardly have time to get to know. I sometimes wonder whether I'll come back one day and find all of my old friends have disappeared! But thank goodness for this reunion - a time to reach out to everyone, old and new. I shall try and poke my head around the door a few more times before the evilness of college steals me away again!

Alas, I have rambled too long. From me in the wintry regions of the UK, I bid you goodnight! (Or just good morning!)
