I've never been totally gone, I just didn't have the time to continue all these great discussions here. University tends to be more stressy than I thought... plus, I still have to keep my graphics site updated (not doing the best job there )

Anyway, I love the idea of this reunion. I've seen so many good ald AUers around here, it makes me feel quite nostalgic. I remember the time when I first came here in 2005 (wow!), and everything was so new and exciting. I still love AU, but there is so much going on here, it's really hard to keep track of everything if you don't hang around here for hours every day. Not that that's a bad thing, though.

For those who don't remember me, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm a 19-year old girl from Germany, currently studying German and English Literature on a major German university. When I first joined AU in 2005, I was still going to school, and a newbie in LotR fandom (I first read the books in summer 2005, and saw the movie afterwards, so I'm kind of a late starter ) . A lot of things have happened to me since then, but I still love LotR as much as on the first day. No other book/movie will ever replace it, I'm now sure of that.

As I said, I'm glad to be back.

Howdy Peeps! I know I haven't actually posted for months, but I promise I do still 'lurk' - particularly in the graphics threads hoping to keep picking up tips!

It was from this very site that I first learned how to make a banner - in the olden days when I was still using paint shop pro (rather badly - but that was then!) Although I now use photoshop with varying degrees of incompetence, it is still the tutorials that I picked up here that I can turn to for any snazzy effect that can work on on PS, not to mention the other non-LotR fans I've directed here just to pick up the basics of image editing.

and just to sign off - I've always wanted to use this emoticon, but never before had the chance - so here goes!

lol I know egsactily what you mean... I remember when I first came to AU I was almost overwhelmed! This was the first ever forum I ever signed up for and the only one that I have remained active on for so long.
I didn't know what to do and learning was an exciting thing... now I could almost go around the site with my brain on auto-pilot. It's still the best forum out there!
















Not sure If I remember seing you around much Mablung, though it looks like you joined a good while ago. You were probably most active back when i was still "withdrawn" from the main activities and large crowds.

Hello, all! Oh, it's been so long! Happy Holidays to everyone! I hope you're all enjoying a well-deserved break. I know that the 27th was the day my family and I let out a big breath, after having entertained people for two days straight. It's New Year's Eve where I am, and I plan to be oot and aboot tonight at a friend's party (I don't drink, so there's no cause for panic ). My birthday's not that long after, but as yet, I have no plans. Although I haven't posted anything here in quite some time, my passion for anything and everything Lord of the Rings and Tolkien. I bought a 2009 calendar of The Lord of the Rings last night, making it at least the fourth year in a row I've had one.

Well, that's about it for me right now. I wish everyone the best in the New Year !

In RL I'm 14, 15 in March. My life is kinda crazy at the moment but I think 2009 is going to be a so much better year so I'm planning to get my education done and go into Fashion Design
I absolutely adore music, I'm a complete Rock Chick , but I do love lots of different types of music
I can play/am learning the guitar and keyboard and I can play violin I love writing songs as well, so yeah, just everything about music is brilliant<33
Also totally obsessed with Writing and Graphics, and I have a lot of people on AU to thank for helping me improve with graphics
So yups! A~U is absolutely wonderful

I took time to do what I wanted to do for a change. It's nice to be back in a familiar place doing familiar things. Hehe. It's a shame I go back to the hell hole on the 6th, though.



I know, it's not the same at all. And I always see your status updates and things and think, I'll post on her wall later, but then time runs away or I forget.

I did notice the long pauses between WT posts. That's really quite tragic! I'll do my best to come back more often...I get so out of the swing of things, though...I never have any idea what's going on! But I'll try. I'll also make more of an effort on FB.
