Hey Everyone! I skimmed through everyone's posts, but now have no time to respond individually. Oh well.

So good to see you all nonetheless.

I'm Gwenneth -- Gwen for short. Some people think this is my real name, but "Gwenneth" is actually what came up on some random elvish name translator, and I liked it so much that I kept it.

I've been a member of this forum for 3 and 1/2 years. When the old forum still existed, I remember snooping around, but feeling too scared to actually join. It looked like so much fun, but I could only work up the courage to register when the new one was started, and I saw that everyone would be adjusting. Before all that, I was a chat regular.

My fondest memory (hands down) of A-U was starting the Welcoming Team. That's the technical term I guess, but it really wasn't just my idea...I guess I was the one who took the time to start a thread for all of us original welcomers. Only a few from that group still remain...a very small few, but to all who made it here, I dearly hope we get to catch up!
It's so splendid to see how the WT has grown in so many ways -- more members, banners, the Buddy System, etc. Even though I had to step down as co-leader, I am so very proud of all of you.
This community included the people who first accepted me, and it's always been my home at A-U.

I was here for the Nazgul vs. WT war, and the Great A-U Forum Crash of 2005 (I used one of the avatars people made and everything...do you guys remember? )

I was here when we started the family tree (proud member of Herenya's line). I remember the double wedding of Luthien of Lorien & FaZiovsky and Elegost & I.
Kudos to Larael and others for keeping it going! I know that's not an easy task!


A bit about my real life...
I live in the US.
I'm in high school, and nearly 17 years old.
I love reading and writing.
I horseback ride once a week.
I have one sister and one brother.
I absolutely loathe school.
Unlike most people my age, I enjoy spending time with my family.
Besides LotR, I'm a fan of Harry Potter, Stardust, Narnia, and much more.

Hello, mum! I've finished my first semester at a University (I started a year early), and will be going back for my second in a few days. It's been absolutely insane and stressful, but I'm holding onto the hope that it will be better as I go along, and that maybe someday I'll actually make friends at school. I had an amazing Christmas Break, including a trip to visit some dear friends who live several states away. How have you been lately? I've barely seen you these past several months!


@Gwen - It's so good to see you around. I remember you from when I joined - I was always in awe of you, because you seemed so wise. The WT has been a huge part of my A-U experience since I joined about a year ago, so I can truly say thank you for starting that.

@ FF: An A? Congratulations!! Lol. It wasn't just my editting skills though. Didn't a few others pitch in as well? I certainly didn't read the entire thing.

Keep on the lookout for more Norribeth. I've been writing up the 8th vignette during my break, but I've been hitting a few rough patches with it. Hopefully I'll have it finished within the month. If I'm lucky.

@ Estë: Aww, that's all right. I do the very same on FB. Usually I'm just running through for a few minutes to update my status and check notifications and such. Not much time at all unfortunately. Oh, it'd be lovely to have you back again. Things have picked up slightly in the WT since you and Rose appeared, but I'm afraid that will all go out the window when school starts again.

Anyway, I received your PM. How was your Christmas/New Year?

@ GWEEEEEN: I admit, when I see you around here I get the most excited. You, my dear, are one of my closest friends on AU, and just seeing you post makes me smile. Thank you so much for bestowing the WT upon me. I have loved every moment of being a co-leader, and will never forget the love and support you have given me.

How has your Christmas/New Year been?

Ooo, a year early! Wow, that's brilliant. Well done you. I'm sure it'll get less stressful as you go along. University is quite a culture shock, from what I've heard. And hehe, that's cool, which state did you go to?

I've been ok I guess. Just ploughing through the insane amounts of work. >.< I have no life. I only have until June, though, and then I'm finished and never have to go back to that college again! Well, unless I get a job at that school/college in the future. Who knows?



Time just goes so fast sometimes, doesn't it? Especially weekends. I'm always scratching my head on Monday, trying to work out where the last one went.

I'll try and come back once a week or so. I can't promise anything more than that, and I'll probably fail on that eventually. But I can give it a whirl, at last until I get totally snowed under again. I warn you now, though, I'll probably rant a fair bit if you let me.

*peers around thread corner* Hello, everyone! I am, in fact, a relative newbie, but I thought I'd stop in and say hi to all of the returning AU veterans. I feel so young in AU years. *stares in awe at all of the oldies*

Without AU....I'd go insane! There's no one in RL that I know who loves graphics like I do, and AU is just swamped with incredible designers. I plan to stay here for many more years! *hugs everyone*
