Gabriel felt the tension on the ship, between Beckett and the lady Keyara. He had been too busy manning the ship and speaking with the other men that he had not had the time to really focus what was going on emotionally between the crew members... although he had a feeling it wasn't something good.. at least that was the feeling he got as he walked down the stars from the deck to the storage.

Aurora smirked at Varianna's sudden outburst, she had had several of those during her time behind these cells and each one had gotten her no where, it was the best way to vent though. Grasping her slender fingers around those bars and wringing them as if she were wringing the neck of someone she despised, or whoever seemed to be on her black list for that day.

"Not much we can do but wait for these bars to rust, aye?" She sighed as she ran her fingers over the weathered bricks of the cell.

There really had to be a better way out

Carmon was struck speechless for a moment after hearing the distant voice calling her name. It was Cole! She just knew it was him and her first impulse was to call back. But, of course, that would be foolish with this woman standing right here. She looked over at Jaiytiea dumbly for a moment, trying to figure out if it would be better to say someone was out here with her or to say that she was alone. “I-um,” she stumbled over her words. She didn’t want her brother to get hurt but she couldn’t think of a way of sneakily warning him that he was in danger. Her mind didn’t work well when it came to impulsive choices and ideas. Finally, she blurted out, “my brother! Oh, don’t hurt him, please! We came here seeking shelter. In town the soldiers are looking for Sam, Edward and Cole. We had to come in here even though I knew it was a bad idea. Oh, please don’t hurt him!” she was on the verge of crying with despair

--------------------

Out of the calm Caribbean night Cole heard voices. Well, more like one voice. It sounded like his sister’s voice and with relief and joy sweeping over him he almost called out to her again. However, she didn’t seem to be talking to him. Was there someone else with her? Perhaps one of the pirates who haunted these woods? What if she was in danger! A fierce wave of sibling loyalty and love swept over him. He had to go help her! But he couldn’t blindly dash through the woods. He would have to sneak up on them. Did he have a weapon? No. Great he thought. Either way, he couldn’t leave Carmon like that. He had to go and do something. Not being familiar with these woods, however, made it hard for Cole to sneak forward towards where his sister’s voice was coming from. In the darkness he kept stumbling over twigs, rocks and saplings. But Cole still put up a good try. Don’t worry, Carms, I’m coming. he thought while trying to figure out how to fight away the filthy pirates with no weapon to speak of.

-----------------------

Lotty could see that as stupid as this soldier may be he wasn’t going to fall for her tricks. Which was a shame especially since he had seemed like such an easy soldier to con. She sighed, seeing the determination on his face. “Sorry, I didn’t want to do this to ye,” she murmured. Lotty saw that he was about to sound an alarm and for a minute she was struck with worry that this would not go as she had planned. However, impulsively at the last minute she struck him over the head with the butt of her pistol. He made a loud thud as his large body hit the ground. She quickly looked up and down the street to see if anyone had seen or heard them. No one had apparently. She sighed with relief. That was closer then it should’ve been, she thought as she headed into the dank, dark jail.

---------------------

Cutler continued reflecting on the day's events for some time after Groves and the rest of the men had begun attempting to piece the ship back together. He swore to himself that the first thing he would do when he got that Chest would be to command Jones to kill that useless abomination of a sea creature. After quite some time of thinking, Cutler turned his eyes back to the deck of his ship. At least the bodies and wreckage were being cleaned up nice and quick. Though it would take more then men swabbing up the blood and splinters to set the Endeavour in working condition again. He felt a headache coming on, which was certainly inopportune. He rubbed his temples with his forefingers, trying to ease it away. “Lieutenant Groves,” he called finally giving up trying to get rid of the ache, “we need to head for the nearest port. We need repairs that we cannot do out here at sea.”

--------------------

Emma, with raised eyebrows and a curious glint in her eye, watched Vari pace around the cell. Finally, when the dark haired pirate turned to her she shook her head. “No, you’re right,” she said calmly, almost reflectively. She let out a long, sad sigh and blankly stared at the opposite wall in the room. Her thoughts turned morbid in a matter of minutes. She found herself wondering what it felt like to hang. How quickly was it over with? She had only witnessed one hanging in her life and that was when she was a girl. That was long, long ago before she had turned pirate. And to say the least it didn’t look pleasant. But then again was there really a pleasant way to die? Emma chewed on her lower lip and frowned, running her hand across the smooth, cold stone floor she was sitting on.

(no Willabeth this time? :()

[[I found this really awesome character generator thing… it’s somewhat like a doll dress-up game, but the only one I could really find that had to do with pirates. :pirate: I thought it might be fun for us to make our characters (as close as we can get them ;-) ) and post the links here… that way we can get an idea of their outfits and whatnot. But you need to take a screenshot of the picture because you can’t just right click and save it. Doll Divine.

I made Vari almost exactly the way I pictured her outfit. ]]

---------------------------------

The sound of Norrington’s voice struck Edward like lightning. It hurt worse than when he’d been shot by the man that now had them cornered, defenseless and alone in the dark. He groaned in both annoyance and agony as he tried to sit up, finding that even such a simple task had become terribly difficult. Edward’s emerald eyes made their way back towards Sam, giving her a look something to the effect of, ‘it’s-not-worth-fighting-anymore-so-we’d-best-be-surrendering.’ What more could they do? They couldn’t run, couldn’t hide… it was over now. He wasn’t going to fight and risk getting shot again, that was for sure. “Sam… just do as he says, luv.”

---------------------------------

Jaiytiea surveyed the blackened forest for a moment, pale moonlight illuminating her face and that of the girl before her. Carmon’s sudden outburst had destroyed any hope of keeping themselves hidden, so now there was no point in trying to silence her. She quickly re-sheathed the glittering blade, deciding not to get this girl even more worked up than she already was. Although night made it hard to see, the shake of her head was clearly visible. “I shan’t harm him, as long as no harm is done to myself. If you will come with me, I’ll try to help you find him in this labyrinth of trees.” Jaiyt reached for Carmon’s arm and led her in Cole’s general direction.

---------------------------------

Sighing, Vari slid to her knees, one hand gripped tightly around the iron bars. Letting her forehead rest against the cold metal, she closed her eyes in some silent prayer. Good Lord, let us escape this hellhole unharmed… Vari was never one of those folk that went everywhere with their Holy Bibles in hand or spent hours on end in a musty chapel. No, she was not a dedicated church-goer by any means at all. In fact, the closest she’d ever gotten to anything Godly was that priest she threatened and pillaged a few years back. But everyone made mistakes, and Vari was no exception.

Some time passed; how long it had actually been, Vari didn’t know, but she could’ve sworn someone was making their way up the stairs. Maybe she was starting to lose her mind after all.
---------------------------------

When Keyara’s eyes fluttered open and she came back to reality, it was well into the night. It took her a few moments to remember where she was… what had happened. But when everything came flooding back, she wished she hadn’t remembered in the first place. Although she knew she could lay there and mope, Keyara pulled herself to her feet. She couldn’t hide from this anymore, or risk not being able to face Cutler again. She quickly cleaned herself up and changed her torn gown. It was a shame, seeing as it was one of her favorites, and now the cream cloth was dirt-streaked and ripped beyond repair. With a sigh, Keyara discarded it on the floor and pulled on a soft pink dress with intricate floral patterns, smoothing the wrinkles as she sat down at the vanity. Keyara picked up the brush and drug it through her knotted hair, carefully studying herself in the mirror. She wondered if Cutler would ever look at her the same way again. She had destroyed the trust between them, even if there hadn’t been much to start with. And so, she had to do this… had to talk to him to perhaps mend her wrongdoing.

When she had finished studying herself, Keyara exited her cabin and stepped out into the cool night air. The soldiers who had been working on repairing the deck paused to watch her as she made her way to Cutler’s cabin. With each footstep, she could feel their eyes burning into her back, silent accusations that she was the reason this monster found them. Even the most non-superstitious soldiers believed that it was bad luck to bring a woman on board, and so far that held true. She closed her eyes tightly and took a deep breath, trying to ignore the glares coming from the men. Each step was like an eternity; when she’d finally reached the guarded double doors, her heart was racing. The two soldiers nodded respectfully at her and Keyara bowed her head. Curling her hand into a fist, she was about to deliver a knock to the glass pane when her hand began to tremble. Her whole body was trembling. Suddenly, the simple task of knocking on his door had become mountainous, and she was but a tiny ant trying to scale it without a plan.

[[Not too sure what you want Beckett to do next - like come out of his cabin, or just stay inside. Can't wait to see what you come up with, PD. :D ]]

((That generator thing is awesome, Ara! and it was definitely fun… (they had a good variety of things to pick from for each charrie too) the only downside to it is that you can only make girls. Oh well. It will be fun to see how everyone else makes their character look… though I already know what their charries look like… still. ;)
Emma
(^I added a coat into her attire for this pic)

Carmon
(^her hair isn’t exactly how I wanted it… but close enough. Think of her as half pirate-half rich girl since that’s as close as I could get her close to “looking proper”)

Lotty

anyway, can't wait to continue on with KAWEOTH... :)))

[[ :teehee: They're a bit different than I had pictured, but really awesome - especially Lotty. I just really wish there were a generator for 1700's-esque women, because then I'd be able to make Keyara. Perhaps one day I'll find one out there on teh internetz. :eyeroll: I think it's also Will's turn to post...? ]]

Exactly what I saw her as!

[[ This would be mySam ;) ]

Sam stared at the shackles which were thrown down her feet. Edward's words still echoed in her ears...Surrender? That sounded nothing like Ed: he really was dying..
Slowly Sam picked up the cold irons and shackled Ed's arms behind his back. Softly her fingers pinched his shoulder as if to relieve her fear. After throwing Edward's weapons aside as well Sam took a deep breath and walked up to the Commodore. "How were you planning on taking him?" she asked in a cold voice.
Norrington raised his eyebrows and smirked: "I didn't shoot him in the leg did I? His feet will do perfectly fine." He threw down a second pair of irons and commanded Sam to shackle Ed's feet as well.
But Sam didn't move. "This man is severly eounded" she exclaimed, not able to control her emotions. "He won't be able to walk and if he does it will kill him."
Norrington shrugged. "I couldn't care less.."
"I think you do" Sam countered with a trembling voice. "I think you will receive more credit by bringing two living pirates to the gallows than just one.." Her voice faded in the dark woods and everything was quiet for some time except for the rustling of the leaves.
James Norrington looked down at the woman with some sort of amazement: was she actually pleading to prolong her friend's life for just a short time? The Commodore was a proud but reasonable man and he realised that the girl did speak some truth. But then his memories went back to past events and his face became emotionless; there would be no more deals with pirates. It had only led to his own misfortune and despair.
"Than you carry him" he finally gruffed.
Sam shot him a glare which contained all her hate for the man but said no more. She had nothing left to bargain with so she let her hands and feet be shackled and helped Edward on his feet so he could lean on her.
In the mean time Norrington had mounted his horse and now aimed his pistol at the couple. "One wrong move.." he said threateningly to Edward "and you and the redhead will be dead. Now move it."

[Aaah and now I forgot Eliza again.. PDie, could you just write a bit for Will where I can respond to? Perhaps that they are at the wedding or so..? 'Cause Will will be arrested soon ;) ]

Gabriel must have been lost in his thoughts because he didn't realize he had reached the end of the corridor until it was too late and his head ran smack dab into the well structured surface with a loud thud. "Son of Jones" he growled as he grasped his forehead and began to rub it.

Once his eyes adjusted and were no longer watering he turned his head to the sudden footsteps he heard, down the next hall was a woman standing before the large double doors of the captain.

Deciding that this would be intrusion if he stayed too long he turned back the way he had came and headed towards the deck once more, completely forgetting about the storage room.

Aurora-Rose almost laughed at the other pirates' frustrations. They knew nothing of the hell that was these cells. She had been in here for months and had not found a way out yet and she was still sane... well... let's just say that her insanity had stayed consistent over the time behind bars.

She knew how the girls felt and right now all they could do was wait for the opportune moment... who would have thought that that time was coming sooner than A-Rose would have thought.

[[ Wow, I must admit that Aurora looks awesome... and Sam looks so sweet, if you don't mind me saying, Will. ;-) I am convinced that we've got some of the most unique PotC OC's. I don't care if that sounds arrogant or what have you; to me, they are the best! Whoo-hoo! I am so excited to keep KAWEOTH going and hopefully it'll flourish even more this summer! :teehee: You can consider this entire post a big bump until PD gets here.]]

“Oh, no, no,” Carmon shook her head fervently, “he won’t hurt you.” And at that, she had no other choice but to follow the pirate through the dense forest. As she was dumbly dragged along, Carmon puzzled over what this woman’s motives could be. Why was she acting, well, almost kindly now? Why was she helping her find her brother? “Why are you doing this?” Carmon was again whispering, forgetting there was no point to whisper now. In a place like this, though, whispering just seemed proper.

----------------

Cole thought he saw something coming towards him through the trees. The moonlight wasn’t strong enough, however, for him to be sure. He stopped and took a step to the side so a tall, branchy tree hid him from whoever or whatever might be coming near. In the dead quiet of the night he could've sworn he heard footsteps, but he still couldn’t be sure. Cole remained where he was studying the forms, which for all he knew could be animals or even ghosts. After what seemed like forever he took his eyes off them and looked around to gather his bearings. He caught sight of a sturdy looking branch that had fallen from one of the many trees. He picked it up and held it tight. At least he wouldn’t be totally without a weapon if he came across the pirates who had his sister. It won’t do much good if they have guns but at least it’s something, he thought. He quickly added, it won't do much good if it's a phantom either. He had heard many ghost stories about this woods. But, of course, that was foolish, right? It was just his imagination running away with him. Carmon needed him now! Focus! A new noise caught Cole off guard. He furrowed his brow and swung around so he could look back to where he had come from. It was coming from that direction. It was a very faint sound. Perhaps more footsteps? Voices? Or maybe just night sounds echoing through the woods. His thoughts flitted to Sam and Edward, but he assured himself that they were safe and pulled his attention back to the advancing figures.

----------------

Lotty slowly felt her way down the slippery, stone steps and into the dark jail. She could hardly see a thing down here in this pit and a filthy, horrible smell met her nose the moment her foot left the last step. It would’ve been completely dark if there hadn’t been a torch lit on the walls here and there. What a way for the poor wretches who were stored here to live! She peered into the first cell of the row and only saw smelly, filthy men sleeping on the stone floor. She scrutinized them for a minute. She didn’t know if she dared to speak and make the mistake of waking everyone in the jail while possibly catching a lurking guard's attention. This would be tricky business because some of the cells she simply could not see into because of the darkness in the room. She ran her left hand across the cool metal bars of the cells as she walked along, picking her way through the dim room. “Vari? Emma?” she whispered hoarsely into one of the cells. When she got no response she moved on.

----------------

At first it sounded faint and like it was miles away but after a time it seemed to be coming closer. Emma grew more alert and listened closely. Yes, it was what she thought it was. Footsteps. Then there was a voice. Did she catch her name being called? But by who? “Did you hear that?” she asked Vari, suddenly standing up and peering through the bars and down the hallway.

----------------

For Cutler Beckett the rest of the day had been spent in quiet reflection alone with only a brief conference with Mr. Mercer midway though the evening. Finally, long after night had come, Cutler decided it was time to see what the sailors and soldiers had been able to repair on his ship. He stood up and stretched for a moment. He took out his pocketwatch and scrutinized it closely. He was surprised to see that it was well into the evening already. He hadn’t realized how long he'd been sitting there stewing over what had happened during the day. His eyes moved away from the ticking timepiece and to the large window in his cabin. Sure enough, the twilight had long passed and the sea was now calm and dark. Someday that sea would be his, he thought. He smiled to himself and leaned over to blow out the lamp which had served as the only light in the room that night. Once the light had been puffed out he headed for the doors. Cutler opened them just in time to see her standing right before him. He stopped and stood where he was, his hand frozen on the doorknob. The door remained half open for what seemed like a century.

----------------

(hmmm, I think for Will I’ll have him have to leave again so Elizabeth can go to the chapel-like place and wait and wait and that way will can be arrested at the shop and such. Like it was in DMC :D (it would also seem that the willabeth story is a little behind the rest. lol))

While waiting for his love to come down the stairs, a young boy came running into the Governor's mansion. “Mr. Turner!” he called, stopping in front of Will and breathing a little hard. “Mr. Turner!” he said again, waiting for Will to respond.
“What is it?”
“Mr. Brown needs you at the shop,” the boys dirty little face looked up at Will, seeing Will’s annoyance and waiting patiently for him to say something. Finally, when Will still hadn't replied he piped up again, "he sent me to tell you. Gave me money to tell you even!” the boy proudly held up the small amount the blacksmith had given him. Will grinned half-heartedly at the young fellow. “Alright,” he consented, casting one last forlorn gaze at the staircase. He decided that he would inform one of the Swann servants that he was called away but to tell Elizabeth that he would return as soon as he could.

The shackles binding Edward’s feet and hands only added more weight to the physical burden he already carried. His legs nearly buckled as he stood up, but thankfully Sam was there to support his numb body. Surrendering was the only way to prolong their deaths, although Edward wasn’t sure if he’d prefer hanging from a noose rather than being shot. But no matter how you put it, both instances were terrible ways to die. Emerald eyes flashed towards Sam, filled with a silent apology for getting her involved in this whole mess. This would probably be their last night together and so many things had gone unsaid. He could only pray that death came swift and put them out of their misery. It seemed as if only the gods could show them mercy now.

----------------------------

Jaiyt only smiled secretively as she continued leading Carmon through thickets of undergrowth and sang in her native language. “出来,出来,無論哪裡您是…come out, come out, wherever you are…” She glanced around the glade, trying to catch any hint of movement from the surrounding trees. “I wish not to harm you, boy, but rather return something you have lost. Will you come out?” They had arrived in the place footsteps were heard earlier, and Jaiyt now tried desperately to hear any more noises.

----------------------------

“Hear what?” She hadn’t heard anything… but then again, Vari hadn’t been paying attention. Her thoughts were focused on escaping this place, and the feeling of a noose tightening around her neck. Vari listened carefully, barely breathing as she did so. There was the sound of keys jingling softly, and what sounded to be a voice. No doubt it was a red-coat on duty, making sure everything was just the way it should be. But now that she strained her ears, it sounded as if the voice was female, and very familiar at that. “Aurora,” she whispered into the cell next to her, “Aurora, listen… listen closely an’ tell me what ye hear.” If all three of them had heard something, it obviously wasn’t a hallucination, but Vari needed to be sure.

----------------------------

Keyara’s eyes darted towards Gabriel for a moment as she watched him leave. It was better if no one overheard their conversation. Everything said would be twisted into a story everyone onboard knew, and they would hate this woman even more than they already did. She bit her lower lip as he simply stood there staring at her, feeling more awkward than ever. Drawing in a deep breath, she lowered her voice and spoke. “Lord Beckett, I realize I am the last person you want to see right now, but I feel as though we need to discuss some… earlier events. Please, if you will hear me out on this…” They couldn’t go on like this forever. Even if no longer he wanted Keyara on his ship, at least she would know where they stood.

[[I find it ironic that the Willabeth story is the one that is lagging the most, seeing as it was the basis of this roleplay. :P ]]

[ *is very anxious to post especially with the flabbergastingly beatiful new Norrie set* But I'm afraid that I can't have a post up until Wednesday as I have to make 2 exams in the next two days.

But I hope that by then Norrie-Sam-Ed will arrive in Port Royal and that the Beckara plotline can merge. Then Aurora, Var and Lothy should escape and Will should be arrested. Aaaah excitement! :teehee:

And I think we should just ignore the time flaws in the Willabeth line.. they aren't that important :P I don't know why I am ramblin off topicness here.. I should get up in 6 hours again. *Stares at teh clock* :hide: *rushes to bed* ]

[[That is absolutely fine, Will. Remember that the posts come when they will and we can't force you to write if you're busy. Good luck with your exams and rest easy knowing we'll keep KAWEOTH safe and sound until you get back. Hmmm, the Beckara plot is being dragged out until we're able to get Vari, Emma & Aurora out and reunite everyone somewhere near the docks, I'm guessing, seeing as they'll be comandeering a ship. ;-) I'm rather excited for this myself, because it's one of my favorite scenes in DMC... I can't stop thinking about this roleplay, actually. It's been on my mind the whole weekend and I've been watching it like a hawk. :teehee:

Goodnight dearest! :bye2: ]]

[[I've asked Lothy to join us, since she was excited to use her new roleplay characters... I hope that's all right with you guys. I figured we could use another person to help keep this going strong. :D

Ooh, Panneth, I love the dolls you made for Linny and Faye... they look great! ;-) ]]
