Our story starts off in the notorious pirate haven of Tortuga where Joe Kerringston, a young pirate (in his early 20s), has just overheard a tale about Singapore, treasure, new lands, and a certain map. It doesn't take long for a group of pirates to team up in the pursuit of this map. It's not just any old map though - it's the infamous charts of the Pirate Lord, Sao Feng. It is said that these charts take you to places hardly a living being has set foot on. Once this crew have secured the charts (not as easy as it might sound) the real adventure begins! Danger and the unknown lurk around every corner and in every water they dare to pass over. That said, let's take a step back and return to Tortuga and where the story begins...

Tortuga. Varianna Pierce could not recall the last time she had set foot here, nor enjoyed the drunken hospitality of its citizens, but she was certain it had been some time before the <i>Phoenix</i> was destroyed and half of the crew along with it…
But that had occurred in the past, and now, she was presently tipped back on a wooden chair, taking generous bites from a crisp green apple, listening to her recent acquaintance, Joseph Kerringston, as they prepared to gather a crew for this latest venture in a little corner of the <i>Dead Moon Tavern</i>.
The golden glow of the firelight and candles cast a shadow upon Joseph, shrouding him in mystery, and Varianna found herself unable to tear her eyes away from his form. He had been quite the gentleman with her the first few days, listening to all of her accounts and offering his sympathy at certain points throughout. And now they were about to begin their first adventure together; the prospect of which sounded utterly romantic in every sense of the word. It was more than obvious she was beginning to fall for Mr. Kerringston, but it was unclear as to whether he returned the favor.

[Tis only day three, Ara.  I should like to join this. Every pirate one I've attempted to join has died pretty quickly, so hopefully this one won't.  ]
Charrie: Rufa Dominguez de Nevarra
Appearance: Named "Rufa" for his unusual dark red hair. Average height, with a wide build.
History: A crew member in the Spanish navy during the war of Spanish Succession, Juan was wounded in his hip in the fighting. He has a perpetual limp. He left the war in terror and made his way south. If he returns to Spanish land, it is likely he would be killed for desertion. _________________ going on a journey through my old claims
