So apparently John Rhys-Davies turned down the offer to play Gimli's father in The Hobbit film! That sucks. :[ I understand why he wouldn't though, the poor guy.

That's a pity. John is a great actor and a great guy, but I too can understand why he turned down the offer. Hopefully they will find someone that will be able to play the role.
