"Ro!" Darius cried horrified as blood started to appear in her vomit. He never felt so powerless in his life before. Nor did there seem to be anything that anyone could do. Watching the miserable scene for a second more, Gareth wrestled with his own emotions. He wanted to take Calista back to her room and tend to her but looking at the anguish spread on Darius' face was keeping him in the room. He also knew that Calista would want him to help Rosalina--even at the expense of her own life---the only trouble with that was that Gareth was not ready to live without this blonde maiden. Kneeling beside Rosalina, Gareth began to chant a healing spell---his last ditch attempt to try and save the mythical creature's love.

Darius felt some hope as Rosalina stopped vomiting but he still felt unnerved at the shallowness of her breathing. "Will she be all right?" Darius asked Gareth, worry in his eyes. Ignoring the man, Gareth switched to another healing spell that would hopefully make it easier for the woman to breathe. He hated using such spells because too many healing chants were taxing upon the spellcaster but with Rosalina in such a condition, he had to attempt it and hope that the scant knowledge he had in such spells would be able to stabilize her.

Darius took some comfort as Rosalina's breathing started to ease somewhat. Meanwhile, Gareth continued the chant before pausing for a moment, needing a rest from the spellcasting.
"Hold on, Ro," Darius whispered to her as he leaned over and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead.

Letting Darius look to Rosalina, Gareth rose to his feet and then moved to check on Calista. Lifting the motionless woman into his arms, he just cradled her close. "Why, my love?" Gareth whispered to her. "Why couldn't you wait?" he questioned as he placed a kiss to her temple.

Not responding to his words, Calista remained limp in Gareth's arms, her own breathing shallow. Worried now more than ever for her, he chanted another healing spell, this time praying it would save his own love.

After a few minutes, Calista's breathing began to ease, although she still did not awaken. "Please, my love, wake up. Let me see those beautiful baby-blue eyes of yours," he whispered to her before kissing her lightly on her lips.

"Rosalina..."Calista murmured weakly as her eyes opened slightly and she stared up at Gareth with glazed blue orbs.
"She is still...ill..." Gareth told Calista softly, not exactly sure how to phrase it.
"Go to her...." Calista murmured.
"Calista, I can't leave you!" Gareth exclaimed.
"Go, I will be fine..."Calista mumbled, her voice trailing off as her blue eyes rolled back and her lashes fluttered closed before she went limp again.
