Hearing Rosalina coughing, Darius stirred slightly and turned to glance over at her. "Ro?" he whispered softly and tensed a bit but relaxed somewhat when she settled down again.

Calista just remained limp on the bed as Gareth continued to perform mouth to mouth on her. "No," Gareth whispered, tears starting to prickle his eyes. "Come back to me, love," he whispered in between breaths.

"I-I couldn't, Ro. I was...worried about you. I heard you coughing again..." Darius said softly. "I don't know what I would do if something happened to you and I couldn't protect you."

After a few more minutes, Calista started to cough as more air started to rush into her lungs. "That's it, my love," Gareth whispered as he placed a gentle kiss on her pale forehead.

"And what if it suddenly gets worse?" Darius asked softly. "I-I can't forget how many times...you have coughed up blood," he added softly.

As Calista began to breathe weakly on her own, Gareth gently took her in his arms once more and held her close. "My love, if you can hear me, please I beg you, awaken. Let me know you are all right," he whispered and glanced down at her though she remained completely limp in his arms.
