After a while, Rosalina started coughing again. The kind of cough that always left her horse and her throat raw. She knew she coughed, but not how it really was.

Frowning as she heard Rosalina cough, Calista slowly rose from her seat and moved to the fireplace. Next, she removed the pot containing the numbing herb and re-set the tea over the flame to boil again, panting lightly for breath as she did so. When the broth was sufficiently warm, she scooped another cupful for Rosalina before slowly making her way over to the bed and gently shook the woman, hoping to wake her enough so she could drink.

Calista merely nodded in response as she handed Rosalina the drink, the hoarseness in the woman's voice troubling her immensely. Deep in her heart, she knew that the cough was coming from a much larger issue and that by only treating the cough she was only treating a symptom and not the cause.
