A short time later, Gareth returned carrying an armful of different herbs. Smiling at her beloved as she saw him, Calista rose from her seat and slowly made her way over to him before giving him a gentle kiss in greeting.
"How are you feeling?" Gareth asked her after they parted. "And how is Rosalina?"
"I'm all right," Calista murmured. "A bit tired but all right. And I am worried for Rosalina," she whispered. "Her throat is sore from her cough. Something must be done to help her quickly."
Nodding, Gareth moved to the table and set the herbs down. "I brought some herbal berries for you to eat," he told Rosalina. "And I found a root that when prepared in the broth will hopefully help Darius," he added.

Rosalina swallowed nervously, and even that hurt. So all she did was nod.

After rinsing the berries, Gareth placed a small cluster in bowl and handed them to Rosalina. "Here, try and eat these and see if they will help your throat," he told her softly.

Meanwhile, Calista slowly moved to the kitchen to grab a knife so that she could chop the root. With knife in hand, she made her way back to her room, rather breathless.

Looking up as Calista walked back into the room, a frown of concern crossed Gareth's face as he saw how winded she was. Crossing over to her quickly he put his arm around her waist and letting her lean against him, led her to a chair and her sit in it.
"I thought I told you to take it easy, love," Gareth whispered in her ear as he leaned over her.
"I-I'm fine...love..." Calista panted a bit before starting to crush the root with the knife.

"How does your throat feel?" Calista asked Rosalina softly as she still continued to chop the root. Meanwhile, Gareth just stood at his love's side, making sure she did not exert herself...not sure if he could handle Calista slipping into a comatose state for a third time.

Calista frowned in worry at Rosalina's response. "Gareth, this is just more than a cough," she remarked. "We have to find the root of her cough, treating the symptom won't do any good," she remarked as she glanced up at her beloved, pausing in the chopping for a brief minute.
"Yes, but how?" Gareth murmured to her before glancing over at Rosalina, concern in his eyes.

Calista frowned slightly at Rosalina's statement. "I am not a fully trained healer but do you think that something is flowing back up into her throat whenever she lies down?" Calista asked as she looked up at Gareth.
Gareth merely nodded. "That is most likely the case," he remarked quietly.

Gareth nodded as he walked over to Rosalina. "It is probably best if I do," he remarked. Calista started to rise as well to see if she could help but Gareth shook his head as he shot a stern look. "You need to relax," he told her. "I don't want you to fall unconscious for days at a time again." Sighing to herself, Calista sat back down and merely continued to chop the root and Gareth could only pray that she did not overtax her strength.
