Calista just gasped for breath as she turned her head weakly from side to side. A part of her just wanted it all to end. She was already weary with fighting for life and the thought of everlasting repose offered itself like a dark tantalizing figment in the far recesses of her mind.

Calista groaned softly. She could hear everything Gareth was saying to her and yet she was too weak to respond to him. Her deathly pale face was now bathed in sweat and she started to tremble as her already high fever grew worse.
