"Yes, beloved?" Darius remarked.
Suddenly a piece of meat became lodged in Calista's throat and she started to choke. Quickly rising from his seat, Gareth moved behind her and performed the heimlich maneuver to dislodged whatever was in her throat.

Darius gave Rosalina a small smile as he held her close.
Gareth pushed on Calista's stomach again, finally dislodging the piece of meat which flew from her mouth. Closing her eyes as she panted for breath, the young woman just sank back against the mage.

"Shh, it's all right now my love. You are safe in my arms," Gareth whispered to Calista, holding her close as she panted for breath.

Darius gave Rosalina a loving smile before kissing her gently on the lips.
Calista just snuggled closer against Gareth as she finally managed to catch her breath. "Thank you," she murmured softly, still keeping her eyes closed.
"Anything for you my angel, my love" Gareth murmured as he pressed a kiss to the top of her head.

Darius smiled against her lips as he kissed her harder.
After a few minutes, Calista slowly opened her eyes and turned slightly so she could gaze up at Gareth. "I love you so much, my handsome mage and lord."
Gareth smirked slightly at her words. "And I love you too, my sweet angel. More than life itself," he murmured as he cradled her close to him. Sighing softly Calista snuggled against him and fell silent for a few minutes. "I'm sorry," she whispered finally. "I am keeping you from your meal."
"Shh. Take it easy, beloved. Right now, my only concern is you," he whispered before planting a gentle kiss to her forehead.
