I didn't see any posts like this... so I hope I'm not breaking any rules Anyways, is there anyone here who has decorated their room with a LotR/Middle-earth style? Once I tried to do a Rivendell-themed room... never took any pics, though. I'd like to decorate it Rohan style... with wooden walls, and gold celtic designs around the top. lol I even drew (horribly) what I wanted it to look like. But of course that's too expensive. To start off... I drew Moria on my closet door! If you have decorated(or have some cool ideas for decorating) your room, post some pics and tell what you did here! ~Feanor

Wow, I never thought of doing a LotR room....I had planned to do a room modeled after the Swamp from M*A*S*H, but LotR sounds like a neat idea. Maybe I'll have both rooms. I would decorate my library room in LotR, either make it look like a comfy hobbit hole, or perhaps model it after Rivendell, with intricate designs painted along the walls, a fireplace, comfy chairs, pretty plants to give the room some life....and if i could, i'd have the blue tapestry with (i think) silver designs on it that was on the wall behind Elrond, when he was telling Arwen to leave with the rest of the Elves and she finally agreed to go. The bookcases would have designs carved into them, and maybe some phrases in elven carved along the top, or even along the front of each shelf....

That looks amazing, Feanor! I can't believe you drew that yourself. I had Moria on my door for a while, too, but it was just a picture I printed out. For a long time, I wanted to decorate my room as if I were Mirkwood, but never really knew how to. I did paint my room a dark green a few years ago, and it looks great! And maybe if you consider my desk and bookshelves are mostly a dark colored wood, you could say I got the color scheme right, anyway. I really wanted some replicas of Legolas' knives mounted on the wall, but of course they were way too expensive.

^ I agree with the Knives thing Taur!!!
I used to have a ton of posters and pictures stuck up, like 50 or so at one point, but that was the closest I got to 'decorating' my room LotR style. I always planned to decorate my room in a cool way that I wouldn't get sick of, as it's a bit of a blank canvas, but never got round to it, so i just have cool prints and posters up. I think most of my lotR ones have been replaced by my wall of musicals which has posters, fliers and ticket stubs from nearly every show I've seen or been in.
Oooh and I did have a no admittance except party business sign for my door, which I made for a LotR birthday party. That was pretty cool!

@Lithoniel: Cool ideas! I think Rivendell would be great for a library @Taurquende: Thanks! I wish I would have been sensible and printed a pic to look at... but no, I didn't even think of it, and had to hold my big fat LotR book open to the Moria illustration. lol! My arm was soooo sore... Your room sounds nice! Oh, I've found some pretty cheap Legolas knives on ebay... like $30. @Lembas: 50?!?! lol I have one tiny LotR "poster". I'm hoping to decorate my room sometime.... my lil sis still has to get her room painted, so mine's gonna be done last if I am gonna paint it. I might just do an elvish theme, that would still be nice, not as cool at Rohan though.. ;p Edit: I found this: http://meduseld.proboards.com/index.cgi ... thread=946 has lots of tips for LotR decorating!
