So I've been thinking that Regina's magic must far exceed that of her mother. Think about it--Regina was able to remove people's hearts and allow them to keep on living, whereas her mom just killed Daniel when she ripped out his heart. Of course, she wanted to kill him whereas Regina wanted to make sure Graham would always be hers, but it's interesting to consider...maybe Regina learned to modify her mother's spells.

If Emma realizes its there, she has some concrete proof that Regina had something to do with Kathryn's disappearance.

Those were my thoughts exactly! :)

Well, didn't Daniel die because Regina's mother crushed/destroyed his heart? That's exactly what Regina did to Graham as well.. So I guess that a person can remain alive when the heart is left intact.

Ha, this must be what the three-week break is for-- to let the theories run rampant! Well played, ABC. Well played. :teehee:

@ Will... Great minds think alike! The more I think about it the more I think that it can't be a coincidence. My prediction is that the recording will come into play somehow at some point.

@ Ari... I agree with Will, here. My impression was that it was the same sort of magic as Regina's, and her mother just crushed the heart. I think it's entirely possible Regina is more powerful than her mother, though. Hm... what if Regina at some point kills her mother? It would really make sense to me if Regina attempts revenge against her mother, and by killing her she might inherit her mother's power as well as any evil bitterness (like Snow would have if she had killed Regina).

While we're talking about hearts, though, I still really want to know where Kathryn's heart came from. :P Whether it's her actual heart or a duplicate heart, and if it's her actual heart, how would that effect her behavior? And what about Wonderland, and Jefferson, and David's dreamwalk? Aaaah, so many questions!!

And hopefully we'll have the answers to those questions soon! But some of the head honchos for this show helped create 'Lost', so it may be a while before we get any concrete answers. Or the answers we get will only raise more questions! And I love your Jefferson banner Taur!

Now that would be just like the LOST people! String us all along like this and then have it all be a dream of Emma's or somethin! All I know is none of the characters should ever get on a plane, especially not Oceanic 815.

I love the quote thats on the banner, its so true. Nurr did a good job.

BELOW THERE BE SPOILERS!

...Meh. I liked it, but I think it could have been...More. More interesting and exciting after a 3-week break. Instead I just found it confusing. XD Is August Pinnochio or something? Or I have a theory that he really IS Mr. Gold's son, and he's just...lying about lying. That's the only explanation I've got for how August can actually leave Storybrooke, that he wasn't there when everyone else got sent there...because he was already there!

And is it weird I was hoping for more Regina than we got? I don't know, she didn't seem her usual evil self and I sort of missed it. Next week's episode looks pretty intense, though! Emma, you're gonna regret going to war on Regina...

Spoilers possible below!!!

I am still a little confused by August too, not sure who he really is yet. Your theory about him being able to leave Storybrooke would make sense, since he wasn't banished there by a curse but instead was sent there with good magic. I liked seein more of Mr. Gold/Rumple's past, shows that he does have his human side still, its just buried deep in him. I admit I loved it when Regina confronted him about leaving Kathryn alive, and he replied that she didnt specify she wanted her dead, 'you just said something traumatic should happen to her, abduction is traumatic' he's a sneaky thing! The preview for next week did make it seem as though August has something to do with the Pinnochio storyline, but you can't always trust the previews. And I'm sure we'll get plenty of evil Regina next week, from the looks of it!

Avast, spoilers be here!

Yay! More Henry! :D The whole August/Bae thing really got me confused. :confused2: And who was the girl with Bae at the start? Did he secretly have a girlfriend? :confused2: And now. . . .and now August seems like a bit of a bad guy! Threatening Mr. Gold and all. Next week's episode looks really cool, with Pinocchio and all.

I saw a new theory on Tumblr that Baelfire is going to turn out to be Henry's biological father. It would make sense...we don't know where/when he ended up after leaving the fairy tale world, but we do know that he was sent there long before the curse. It's possible he could have grown up in our world, gone to Boston or wherever Emma was living where she got pregnant with Henry, and had a fling with her.

SPOILERISH SPOILERS

I've heard that theory too, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. After all, from all we've seen of Bae he doesn't seem to be the type of person who would cause trouble and get a girl pregnant. Of course, maybe circumstances happened...you never know. But we also don't know the timeline. How soon after Rumpelstiltskin lost Bae did he finally make the curse? And then give it to Regina? I feel like Bae would be too old by that point. Just my thoughts.

I really enjoyed this episode, and at least I still love August, even if half the fandom is up in arms over him. (I really gotta stop going on Tumblr. Too many people who go crazy if anything happens to Rumpel/Mr. Gold. :P ) I feel like the theory of August being Pinocchio makes a lot of sense, but I also kind of like the idea of him actually being Bae with an agenda (of course, that does run into the aforementioned Bae problems).

Also: WE GOT ARCHIE! And Mr. Gold! In a scene together! That pretty much made the episode for me. Also loved Henry's card: "We're glad you didn't kill Mrs. Nolan."

There needed to be more Kathryn. Come on, she just got rescued! This is big! There should be things happening! SHE SHOULD BE MEETING FREDERICK, OKAY? IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN. Apparently the scene they had shot with him got cut. :'(

I really don't know how this "I'm going to take back my son" thing is going to go. But the legality of the situation is not making me happy. Emma has no concrete proof about the things Regina does, and she had a closed adoption. I feel like the courts won't just let her now say "Oh nevermind, I actually do want my kid now." I dunno. Also, Emma, please stop telling people what you're going to do. It makes it too easy for them to block it.

HERE THERE BE SPOILERS

Well, one things for certain, at least. Any episode featuring Rumple is going to be pretty good. He's such a multifaceted character, it's fantastic. And Robert Carlyle is kind of amazing.
I sort of agree with Ara about it being a little disappointing after three weeks, though. All of the answers to the big bizarre questions about Kathryn being alive were sadly conventional. Faked DNA results on the heart? Lame, when you've got a character that can pull people's hearts out and use it to control them.

Agreed about Bae being Henry's father. I'm trying to figure out the timeline, too. I mean, we know it was 28 years since the curse started, but it seems like a long time between Rumple losing Bae and making the curse, long enough for Rumple to acquire more power and the castle and fall in love with Belle. But I guess we can't even know whether time goes at the same rate in this twisty world of theirs. Even Mr. Gold admitted he didn't really know how old Bae would be.

Seriously. I felt like they were pushing David/Kathryn in this episode. Why?!?! We all know there's no way that's going to work out.

Agree with you there, any Rumple episode is goin to be good, because he's just such a fascinating, twisty, 'you dont really know what he's goin to do next' type of character, its fantastic!
And I did expect just a bit more from this episode, especially when it came to Kathryn, and I was a bit disappointed when the mystery unraveled into just some faked DNA tests and an abduction. But finding out more about Rumple's past made it worthwhile. And I wonder if there is a considerable time difference between story world and the real world...I wonder how Henry would feel about having Mr Gold/Rumple as a grandpa?

HUGE AND INCOHERENT SPOILERS BELOW! I AM RIVER SONG AND I DO NOT MESS AROUND WITH SPOILERS!

OH.

MY.

GOD.

First of all my mom totally called the whole "Pinocchio goes through the wardrobe with Emma" thing

I am totally shipping August/Emma and nothing can stop me, not even the rumoured return of Graham.

Yay for lots of Jiminy Cricket screentime! He's adorable as a little CGI cricket!

But I wanted more Mr. Gold screentime.

Regina keep your claws away from David because he belongs to Mary-Margaret and I will jump into that TV screen and slap you.

Fun symbolism when she breaks the mirror, yay!

EMMA WHAT ARE YOU DOING GIRL KIDNAPPING IS BAD.

NEXT WEEK IS THE APPLE I CAN'T EVEN HANDLE THIS. SNOW! HENRY!! AH!!

.......AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

so, what did you guys think of the episode?

It had its good moments, but I was expecting a little bit more from it, the promo from last week had me thinkin that this episode would go differently than it actually did. I enjoyed finding out more about August. I agree, I wish there was more Mr Gold screen time! But I guess I cant be character greedy, need to see everyone get the spotlight now and then. August/Emma would be interestin to see, theres possible chemistry there. In a nutshell, it was still good, but it wasn't what I expected.
