With a slightly disappointed smile Ruscowen stopped splashing her mother and swam closer to the brookside. It was surprising hard to swim with soaked clothes but after the Long journey the cold water was really pleasant.

Aralas splashed Fili and Kili one last time before getting out of the water. "I think the dwarves might have some rope," she said in response to Lithi's question. "Cool idea!" She went to the dwarves' pack and got some rope. "Mind if I borrow some of this?" she asked Kili. "'Course not!" he said. She tied it to the tree. "Who wants to go first?" she asked once she was done, "It's pretty strong."

"I'll have a go!" Lithi said as she joined Aralas by the tree. "A rope tied to a tree over water is a magnet for this country girl!" she laughed, taking a few steps back so as to get a running start at the rope. Jumping in the air, she grabbed onto it and swung out over the water, dropping with a yell into the river. She surfaced moments later, giving Aralas a thumbs up as she said, "Needless to say, it works!"

Hastily, Ruscowen got out off the water and stumpled over the seam of here Dress. Even though she stumbled she managed to redress the balance. She murmured something that sounded like "Too clumpsy for this world". But then with a big smile she joined aralas by the tree.

"Yay! My turn!" Aralas said and jumped, grabbing the rope. She swung and let go, falling into the water. She went under for a bit and resurfaced. "Woohoo! That was fun!"

(Going on a little vacation this weekend, so I'm afraid I'll have to pull out of the party a little early.)

Lithi swam over to the bank as Hook moved to the rivers edge, motioning her to him. "I'm sorry to pull you away from the festivities love, but I feel we've been away from the ship long enough." he said as he gave her a hand out of the water. "You know Smee, if he finds anything that may fetch a fair price, he'll sell or trade it regardless of what it is." "Too true." Lithi replied as she wrung out her dripping hair. Turning to the rest of the family scattered about the riverbank or still swimming, she waved as she called out "Afraid I have to leave. It's been fun, and thank you for the invitation!" Taking the arm Hook extended to her, they left the campsite.
