I've been enjoying the band Faun of late. They have a great medieval sound using traditional musical instruments with just a taste of modern electronica to draw it all together. The lyrics are in German, which adds to the overall feeling of the songs. Here is a great live show of them in 2007...

I saw them a few years back during an outdoor fantasy event, and they were really good. I was just walking past the stage but I actually ended up staying for the entire performance They give off a really good and positive vibe, and their costumes were also a nice touch to the overall medieval feeling.
I enjoy their music. It's different, I'll give it that, but good.

I love Faun! A great band with some really fantastic songs. I love songs like Unda, Tanz Mit Mir, Egils Saga, Diese Kalte Nacht and Walpurgisnacht, among others.

FAUN released their new album titled Midgard today! They tribute Scandanavia folk and Vikings! Got one on order! It isn't their best, but it is good.

And once again, Faun has changed vocalists. Katja has been with the band since 2013, but left this year, and now they have Laura Fella joining the band. I'll be interested in how she changes the band. I will say that I am partial to the Elisabeth Pawelke era of the band.

I found this video of 'Wind und Geige' at Castlefest 2011. There is another video of this song at this show that has somewhat better audio quality, but the cameraman was not very good at filming the people when they were playing their instruments. This video is a stationary hand cam that keeps the whole stage in view for the whole song.
