So I've finally gotten The Sims 4 (as a gift, actually) and I like it more than I thought I would. I do dislike the lack of toddlers, and how you can only have your baby above the basinette, and I absolutely hate the lack of dishwashers and how stupid the maids seem to be (my maid will clean up half the dirty things and leav the rest), but overall I'm really excited about it. I do find it a challenge though to keep both the personal aspirations going as well as their moods and their jobs, but genuinely it's just fun that it's more challenging.
I'm still on my first family because I just started playing a week or so ago, but I do like it although it lacks a lot of things.
Anyone else playing this?

I got the first sort of expansion, but haven't tried it out yet because I've lacked the focus you need to keep an eye properly on a game. xD

It's alright. I mean, some of the new features are great, but I hate the removal of some of the old features. Like toddlers. Man, I loved toddlers. I used to have baby set for like 2 days and children set for 4 days and toddlers set for 20 days or whatever. BRING ON THE TODDLERS.

Yeah.... O_@ Shows how into the game i was.... I played it for 3 years and never knew you COULD set how long they were at a stage of maturity. I know I would not like some features being removed... I get used to what I am used to.... fancy that huh? I had a couple whom the guy was 2 promotions away from the top military job and the women was 3 promotions away from the top NASA job.... then they had a kid.... and I never made it to the next career level with either of them. haha I liked having the kids but they were a lot of work!

Yeah I usually never let my sims have kids until after they've reached the top of their career. Or well, now with sims 4 I can, because they can choose to go on parental leave or keep working and you can age the baby up to a child straight away if you want.

That's so interesting.... that would have been very helpful in the old ones... because yeah, once you had kids your career was at a stand still. lol It almost seems like cheating! lol but then... I can't say there weren't a few games I didn't use the cheats on anyways.

I tried the Sims 4, but being so used to the Sims 2, I found the building confusing and difficult, and since building is what I enjoy the most I will still stick to my dear old Sims 2.

Hm.. it's that different huh? See I never even got to try it so I didn't realize the building was much different. I did love building! I would spend an hour designing my house and then another hour picking out the carpet and wallpaper and all that stuff. It was a lot of fun!

I've never played it. But I have read enough about it, to know that I won't like it.
TS1 was pretty good. TS2, I played that for years. Despite the massive amount of glitches, and the huge risk of game corruption, I love that game. TS3 is pretty amazing though. I could easily play that all day.
I do have a rule though. New game play laptop, upgrade my sims. First laptop had TS1. Then the harddrive screwed up, and the whole thing had to be sent back to the manufacturer. When it came back, I switched to TS2. I had that for like 8 years, until that laptop litterally died. Got a new laptop, and upgraded to TS3.
The one thing that I don't like about TS4 though, is that you need an origin account or internet access to activate it. I like my sims gameplay laptop to be specifically 100% offline.

Ah.... yes I would not like that either.
I have no interest in playing most games if they are stricktly on line games unless it is an MMO.
I loved the older versions that you could take with you anwhere and I would not like HAVING to have an internet connection to play.

I know that a lot of people got mad when the Xbox1 tried to pull that, I think they changed it now. But it has made me hesitate on getting a newer game system, right now I'm sticking with my Xbox360. The whole having to be online thing doesn't work for me. One reason is I don't have Internet access at my house. The other is I have heard to many stories of hackers and others being able to break in through those types of deals, especially when they have cameras built in. Which is creepy since my game system is usually in my bedroom.

Yeah, I didn't care for the Xbox being thay either. I didn't realize they had changed it, though. That's good.
Yeah, hackers are something I had not even thought of.

They just announced an expansion pack for the music adding two of the bands that I listen to, in the soundtrack LIGHTS and Echosmith.
