The healer sighed, pocketed the coins and went about her business while Sygnet stood and walked out of the wardroom, following Micha.

Micha glanced back to Sygnet. "The group will be ready to leave rivendel shortly. You feeling up to it?"

Sygnet nodded, "Always," she smiled and followed him, shifting her bag on her back and moving to walk beside him as he led the way.

Micha smiled, glad to see Sygnet back to full health. Once they joined the rest of the group the leader explained the situation.

Eshlyn, the elven captain, introduced the five other warriors that would be accompanying him, sygnet, and micha.

In summery... The elves knew that a darkbpower was forming in the misty mountains, something ancient. No one knew the source and that was the mission... To descover te source.

Sygnet stood between an elven male and Micha. She was smaller than both of them, resting her hand on the pommel of one of her swords.

Eshlyn stood tall. "Alright soldiers! It's time to head out."

Micha turned to Sygnet and nodded a recognition as he stepped up towards his horse. The rest of the group mounted their steeds and Micha kept a gentle eye on Sygnet to be sure she had no sign of pain or difficulty jumping up on her own horse. He trusted elven healers but he knew better than to trust a wounded warrior to be completely truthful all the time if they were still in pain.

Sygnet brought the reins over her horses' head and mounted up gingerly. It hurt but she managed. At least she didn't have to walk. She walked beside Micha as they rode up the steep incline out of the Valley.

Micha noted the ginger mount and was sure to keep an eye on Sygnet. The worst thing would be to hinder her recovery by testing her body too harshly in the misty mountains.


The ascent was sliw and steady. As they climbed Micha layered up to leep warm and soon the rocky ground was speckled with snow as the narrow pass opened wider to vast snow fields that were home to the native creatures.

Her elven half made her partially warm but she still felt the sting of the snow on her face and arms as they moved through the snow. It was lesser here but she new that it got deeper as they went on. She only feared wolves and other beings that would have cover in the thickening wind. She pressed on, her red head bowed against the wind that was whipping in her face.

As the group journeyed onwards they took the paths north and east along the base of the mountains before heading up a trail that lead them into the mountains. Long past mid day they finally found an acceptanle place for the group to stop and camp.

"Stop here men," Eshlyn instructed. "Take a break for the time."

Micha looked up. "It is a good half days journey to the next camping spot along this rout. We should stay the night here."

Eshlyn looked at Micha as if to consider his words but then tirned and walked off. "We will find amoter spot. We elves know these lands better than any outsider. Rest for mow and we will travel on in half an hour."

Sygnet dismounted, a bit stiffly and moved to a tree to tie her horse, and sat down by the tree, finally breathing easy. The ride has jostled her and the snow made her skin feel irritated. She looked up at Eshlyn as she ignored what Micha suggested. She hardly new the Misty Mountains but she thought that their expedition leader should keep an open mind.

Micha argued no further but went and sat in a flat spot... Or as flat as he could find at least.

The rest went quick and before long they were on the trail once more. Fortunately weather was fair, at least as fair as it got in the misty mountains. Still... As night approached no resting place was within sight.

Sygnet was getting tired. Her wounds ached and her bones were stiff but she didn't complain. She followed them silently, close to the back of the line.

Micha was sure to keep an eye on Sygnet. Her father had charges with such a task and he had assured he would do his best.

"How are you making out?" Micha asked, stepping back a bit to walk beaide Sygnet.

Sygnet chuckled, "Well enough. Although, I do worry about wolves and the like," she looked at the tree-line nervously and then back to him, "It will be dark soon," she said.

Micha nodded and took several steps in silence. " these elves knew these mountains well... But some of them have not been out this way in hundreds if years. There is mo good camping place near as far asI know. As for the wolves... We should be alright so long as we dont run into a whole pack of them."
