Sygnet smiled in the darkness, "As am I. I love adventures, even if it is dark," she said, looking at his shape and then around at the cave walls. There was an interesting smell on the still air. She couldn't quite place it but it was there.

Micha smiled, perhaps for the first time since entering the dark cave. He settled down for a long rest, content to know Sygnet was there... Somewhere in the darkness just to his side.

Closing his eyes made no difference but as he relaxed, his eyes drifted closed and his tiered body succumbed to sleep.

Sygnet nestled closer to Micha, hoping to provide some warmth and comfort to him as he slept. She kept a look out as she had before, sitting quietly in the darkness, listening to Micha's rhythmic breathing. She was relaxed, at ease as much as one could be in the darkness of this cave. She ran her finger over the curved edge of her dagger, as she had done before when her hand slipped and she gasped slightly. She had cut her thumb. Not too deep but she had never done so before. Hopefully, this wasn't a bad omen.

Micha stirred as Sygnet moved up against him but he did not wake. He, subconciously moved his hand over through the darkness to feel, placing a hand on Sygnet's as if to be sure it was her and not comotion from another source. When his hand found hers he settled into a deeper sleep once more and leaned his head over on her shoulder.

His breathing shallowed and his merves calmed. He felt at peace inside this darkness and that was a rare thing for him... No matter where he was.

He jerked to, however at Sygnet's gasp! One thing he recognized, whether sleeping, awake, or in a complete daze, was the sound one made when flesh met steel. Due to their current situation he rather over reacted.

Once Micha was awake and jerked to he grabed for his blade, stiring the other elves who sat awake but resting in silence. He looked over to Sygnet, realizing the sound had come from her, his breathing picked up again. His one hand grasped his sword and his other still grasped her own hamd, quite tightly at this point.

Sygnet was slightly alarmed and flinched at his grip but she pulled him back gently saying, "It's okay. I just cut my thumb. It is nothing," she looked at the hand, feeling the blood running down her arm. She wiped it on her tunic and then bandaged it up, "Go back to sleep," she said, finding his hand again and squeezing it gently.

Micha calmed his breathing once more as he heard Sygnet's voice and realized what was going on.

"I'm sorry," he said softly with a sigh. "You are sure you are alright?"

She nodded and smiled, "I am. It is minor. Go to sleep. You are really on edge," she said, holding his hand firmly but softly still.

Micha tried to sleep but it came harder this time. He kept ahold of Sygnet's hand and reminded himself that all was well. Eventually he fell asleep and got a decent rest before waking with a start.

He was rested and ready to move on. The dark startled him but not near as bad as the last time he woke from his sleep. He gathered himself and calmed his nerves before looking over in the direction that Sygnet sat. Though he could see nothing.

"I am rested. We should be going. Once we get into the caverns above there is nowhere safe to rest that I know of. It took me a day and a half to get through them last time but I know the way mostly this time and I have friends with me." Micha smiled and thanked the Maker again for Sygnet's pressence.

Sygnet nodded, standing and helping him to his feet. She picks up her bag, stretched her injured shoulder and stood up. It would be hard to change her bandage in the dark and after this time, it probably needed new dressing. She turned towards the passage ahead and began moving along, pulling Micha along behind her and listening to his directions. The way ahead was beginning to feel warmer, less dank. It also see me to be a bit brighter as well, if only a miniscule amount.

Micha followed along behind Sygnet. He noticed the change in the environment as well. His eyes welcomed any tid bts of light and perhaps made it out to seem like there was more than realy was.

Once they arived at the tunnel Micha squezed Sygnet's hand gently and moved close beside her. "You go first and I will climb beneath you to give you support. You shouldnt be straining your injured shoulder any more than you have to."

Sygnet knew better than to protest at the moment so went first, sheathing her sword, she found a foothold and then began to climb the wall. He had been right, her shoulder pained her but she didn't let it down and continued to climb, taking deep breaths to help steady her.

As they began the long ascent to the top Micha was sure to stay close to Sygnet, offering a knee or a hand as a foot or hand hold whenever she needed. He hopped this would keep some stress off her shoulder.

Light came slowly as they climbed. Not a bright blinding sunlight or the pleasant gleam of a mid-summer's day but the subtle, dim, res glow of lava. With the light emminates a piercing heat whos pressence grew ever more dominate.

The climb was long and arduous but climbing was one thing that Micha did well. He only hoped Sygnet's shoulder would not be left in disarray from the added use.

Sygnet managed fine with the climb. It was painful but the supported herself with her other limbs and took Micha's aid when it was needed. They made fine progress as they climbed and soon, they reached the top.

Once they reached the topbof the climb Micha was glad to be able to see his own way. The heat was great but it was a welcomed compromise.

"You alright then?" He asked Sygnet.

Sygnet nodded, "This is nicer. I can at least see more," she said, smiling softly as an looked around.

Eshlyn and Nessia came up and after they took a brief break to eat a small portion of their rations the group moved onwRd.

The caverns were glowing red and Micha informed them that all they had to do was head towards the diminishing streams of lava. Those were the streams that headed into the snow capped mountains lower base. Once they hit the snow Micha seemed reluctant to say what came next.
