As time ticked by, Sygnet and Valadhiel were melting, as was the dragon. The small creature melted faster, as she was smaller with fire burning in her and found herself able to move once more. She began licking Valadhiel's ice cube, doing her best to try and thaw her master but only managed to get her tongue stuck to the cube.

When Micha thawed he looked over to see Sygnet and Valadhiel. The pain was much worse this go. He winced and tried not to show it but it felt as thought daggers of ice were slicing him up from the inside.

"Sygnet?" he called out, unable to focus through the pain to tell if she was thawed, thawing, or even conscious.

Sygnet was thawed up to her waist, "I'm here, love," she said, the pain abated but returns suddenly and she gasped slightly. Her shoulder was still numb and the area was covered in a layer of frost.

The dragon hand managed to thaw Valadhiel to her leg but the woman was still frozen to her chest.

Micha heard Sygnet's voice and being unable to say much else through his pain he laid his head back down, glad to know she was alright. He wanted to ask how her shoulder was doing... he knew it would cause her greater pain.

Time rolled on slowly but eventually they were unfrozen entirely. Micha laid there on the ground and looked around again for Sygnet. His vision was blurry and though the worst of the pain was subsiding his limbs were numb and he was unable to move or control most of his body.

Sygnet had thawed before him and was waiting for him when he fell and caught him, lowering him to the ground gently and laying his his head in her lap, "Shh. I'm here," she said, stroking his cold cheek with her warm hand. She just sat there, just quietly waiting and talking to him.

As his head fell into her lap and felt her hand on his cheek he fumbled around with his arm, barely able to nudge it into movement. He found her other hand and grasped it in his with a feeble grip.

As she talked to him he took a deep breath and closed his eyes, listening to her voice. As always, his anxieties seemed to fall away like water down the mountainside.

Finally he was able to sit up after long last and his pain was slowly fading away. He was still week, but he could see clearly.
He glanced up at Sygnet, over to Valadhiel and her dragon, then back to Sygnet. "Thank you," he said, squeezing her hand feebly. His voice was raspy and quiet, frost still spilling out his mouth with his words. His breathing was heavy but he worked to slow it. "Thank you..." he muttered again. With weary eyes he leaned his head in and rested it on Sygnet's shoulders and fell asleep.

Sygnet pulled her cloak around him and smiled, holding him tightly. She tried her best to keep him warm and eventually fell asleep herself, her head on his.

Valadhiel had laid down on the ground, her dragon curled up beside her and they fell asleep. She was breathing softly and gently.

(Yes, it is! Good night!)

Night brought a cool breeze but Sygnet's cloak her presence seemed to keep it out. Micha woke in the starlight to find Sygnet asleep and him still wrapped in her arms. His cold chills were gone for the most part and his strength, though week, was beginning to return. He didn't wake her, only lay his head back on her shoulder and sleep until morning.

(Night. *waves again* This time I really am going. haha I'll try and catch you on again tomorrow evening if I can!)

Sygnet slept on, curled up next to him, taking deep slow breaths as she dreamed. She was warm, despite the cold Autumn air, she felt warmth there with him.

Once morning came Micha roused from his sleep again. He wished he could have slept longer but he knew his body would allow no such thing. He was physically and mentally tires but his body was not tierd for sleep.

He was strong enough to make it to Rivendel, he thought, but he would need some time once he arrived for his full strength to return.

Sygnet was already awake, still holding Micha. When she felt him stir she looked at him, "Good morning, sunshine," she said, releasing him and then standing up. Valadhiel had gone to retrieve food and horses For them but the little dragon was still here, sleeping on her back with her paws in the air and tongue hanging out. Her snores were quit loud despite her tiny size.

Micha looked up at Sygnet and smiled at her words. He sighed and looked around at the trees and warm earth... it was a good morning. His eyes drifted back to Sygnet. "It is a good morning," he strained to stand to his feet. "Did you rest much?" he asked Sygnet.

"Oh, a bit. Don't strain yourself too much," she said as she stood up to help steady him, "You are still a bit weak," she smiled warmly at him. Then her expression became serious, "How do you feel?"

Micha accepted her help eagerly but tried to seem strong. He took a deep breath before answering her question. "A bit week," he said, half in jest and with an underestimation of reality.

He tried to take a step and stumbled. He held on to Sygnet, barely able to keep himself up. He sighed heavily. "Last time I was at least able to walk back to Rivendel..." he shook his head. "Looks like I won't be doing that any time soon."

He relinquished his will to the reality of his feeble state and sat back down.

"How are you feeling? Any ill effects still lingering?"

Sygnet smiled and a split second of hesitation before saying, "None at all. A little tired but nothing a little rest won't fix," she sat down beside him and pulled a bit a of food from her bag and offered it to him.

Micha gazed at her knowingly when he noticed her hesitate. "How bad is it?" he asked, accepting the food graciously.
