Sygnet's did not sleep but she rested as the elves do. She awoke when Valadhiel entered. The dragon awoke as well and greeted her master like a puppy. Sygnet smiled, "Glad to see gou back, my friend," she said, raising an eyebrow.

Again, Micha stirred but did not wake. His body was too weary.

The night was well spent and morning would come soon. The night's chill deepening and a heavy fog setting in. This fog, noticably different than the fog they experienced in the mountains. It almost seemes peaceful.

Soon the sun would rise and the small party would head for Rivendel.

Sygnet allows him to sleep and let Valadhiel bind her shoulder with the new supplies. She voiced her concern for it, saying that infection was beginning and without aid, fever would begin to set in. Sygnet made her promise not to mention it to Micha, as she didn't want to worry him. She hoped it wouldn't set in until they got to Rivendell but it was a long wait until morning.

Once morning came Micha roused from his sleep. Seeing Valadhiel he pulled himself to his feet. "I guess we should be heading out soon."

He looked over to Sygnet. "How are you doing?" He noticed the supplies and asked. "Did you get your shoulder mended?"

"As well as we could," Sygnet said, smiling. Her shoulder was hurting terribly but she hid the pain from her face.

Valadhiel stood up as well, ready to leave, she had packed their things, "I am ready when you both are," she said, offering a hand to Sygnet to help her up. Sygnet used her left hand and helped pull herself to her feet. She stood there, feeling a bit dizzy, she took Valadhiel's shoulder.

Micha nodded. "We should go now."

He pushed himself to his feet and strode wearily over to the horses. He tried to Help Sygnet but there was little he could do. He hardly got himself on his own horse.

Once they were ready they headed for Rivendel.

Valadhiel mounted of the horses, the dragon managed to find a seat on it's back, sitting down happily.

Sygnet managed to mount and sat there, ready to go. The ride back would take most of the morning and just getting up the horse made her tired. They began the ride.

As the morning wore on Micha became more and more tired. He could tell Sygnet was as well and it concerned him. Being an elf he knew that her wound must be getting much worse for it to effect her like that.

He rode close to her to be sure he was there to help if she needed him, though he feared he would be able to do little if the need actually arose.

"If you need anything, let me know," he told her, a concerned look in his eye.

Sygnet nodded. She was slumped over in her saddle now, eyes watching the bobbing neck of her horse. Valadhiel was scouting ahead, unbeknownst of her companions' deteriorating condition.

As they continued, Sygnet's head falling lower. In one swift movement, she slid sideways on her horse and fell into the dirt and lay still. Her horse stopped and Valadhiel turned back, saw her friend and spun about, moving swiftly back to them.

Valadhiel rolled up Sygnet's sleeve. The bandage was soaked with blood, "The claws had to have been soaked in something. Were there any stage markings on it? There is a possibility that she was purposefully attacked. Sygnet...stay with me," she said as she hurriedly redressed her wound.

Micha stumbled off his horse and nearly collapsed to the ground himself once he landed. He rushed up to Sygnet and paused, his head spinning and things going black. He steadied himself and shook his head to Valadhiel's questions. "I don't remember anything... just the bear..."

He glanced down at Sygnet, lifting her head and placing it gently on his lap.

"Sygnet... hold on..." he whispered, his voice as desperate as it was week.

Sygnet opened her eyes a bit and looked at him, smiling ever so slightly, "You look terrible," she said. Sweat was beading on her forehead and her body was hot although it shook with tremors.

"The fever is setting in. We need to get her to Rivendell quickly. It's so far and going fast might injure her more," Valadhiel said quickly.

Sygnet coughed and took in great breathes of hair. She gasped, struggling to take more in and when the coughing subsided, her blue eyes closed and she fell unconscious.

Micha tried to smile at what he Sygnet's statement but it was forced.

"You don't look so great yourself... health-wise that is..." he replied awkwardly.

Once she fell unconscious, however. Micha began to panic. "We have to take her."

He set her down and grabbed a few herbs out of the pack that he had picked earlier. He put a wad on Sygnet's wound and a another wad under her tongue.

"That should help with the fever," he told Valadhiel. "We have to get her to the elven healers!"

He hoisted Sygnet up on his horse with Valadhiel's help and they headed to Rivendel as fast as they could travel safe.

Valadhiel rode close by, pulling Sygnet's horse along, the dragon riding on him. Valadhiel rode at a slow canter, nervously looking around until they neared the Gates of Imladris. She slowed to a trot down the long hill, carefully watching her friend for any sign of worsening condition.

Micha hurried theough the gates, trying to be as gentle as he could blyet not slow. He headed straight for the healers.

Once they arrived he waited for Valadhiel to help him get Sygnet iff. He knew he was too week... If he tried they would both colapse to the ground.

Valadhiel reach up and pulled her friend down, holding her up with one arm, she offered the other to Micha. "Stay with the horses," she instructed sternly when Micha was down. She picked up Sygnet and carried her inside the doors and was gone.

Micha stumbled down to the ground and at Valadhiel's word he paused. He was neither strong enough to argue nor did Sygnet have the time for it.

Ignoring his own condition he took the horses over and tied them up. Then he walked back to the healing house and sat down on the hard wood deck right beside the door. He tried to hear what was going on as he sat in a stuper.

"Is this all life has to offer?" He thought to himself. His whole life he had never loved and now... Now when love crept up on him out of nowhere when he least expected it... Now would it all be taken away? A tear slid down his cheek, soon followed by several more.

Good friends were hard to come by, none the less something more. In fact Micha had only three good friends, one of which was dead. His mind didnt stop spinning until his ill condition got the better of him and forced hm back into a deep sleep, quite against his presistant objections.
