					| The new, aditional, almost "blackout" curtains for my bedroom seem to be functioning as I hoped. Besides keeping my bedroom dark at times in the morning that I never was amused at being woken at, they also block out the heat that their less effective predecessors (which I have kept for other good reasons) allowed through to my discomfort. _________________

					| With our current heat wave, I've been keeping daytime clothing down to very light shortie pyjamas. If it gets any hotter, which may be, I may have to resort to the last stage still compatible with open curtains, swimming trunks. _________________

					| Our drought has now reached another threshold: impeding river traffic due to low water levels. Along some stetches of our nominally navigable rivers, boats and barges have been forced to reduce payloads to half of what their carrying capacity would allow them. _________________

					| To dampen the heat buildup in our apartment during the afternoons, we have been lowering the shutters of our living room windows and extending the awning on our balcony as required. The one good thing about the otherwise insufferably stagnat air (except for gusts during the rare thundershower) is that we don't have to worry about wind damaging the awning, which I have also changed to a steeper setting to block the sunlight better. _________________
