Niell retrieved his dagger from where it had fallen. He waited till the wraith was only a few feet from him before he threw the dagger. The blade buried itself deep in the hood and the wraith gave a shriek, it's armored hands reached up to the hilt as it ran into the woods.
After the shrieks of the wraiths had faded, Niell reached up and wiped the blood off the side of his face, finally making it possible to open his other eye. He turned to Silmarwen, "I think we have lingered long enough," he said started off into the trees.

Silmarwen nodded her agreement, though looking rather paled. She followed him, sheathing her sword and holding a hand to her side.

"Stop..." she gasped as she leaned against a tree. "Hold up a while while I regain my sense and catch my breath." She sank down to a sitting position against the tree, taking in short breaths.

Niell turned back , "are you okay?" he asked with slight concern in his voice.

Silmarwen nodded her head slightly, "I'm just feeling a bit weak, but I'll be fine..." She got to her feet and took a deep breath, holding her hand on her side.

Silmarwen managed to follow for a short distance, but was lagging conciderably far behind. Leaning against a tree, she gasped, "I can't go any farther..."

Her side was burning and it was all she could do to keep from giving into the pain and passing out. She could barely choke the words out between the grimaces, "the blade.... I didn't think... it was morgul... but no normal blade... feels like this..."

Haldir sat down, closed her eyes and knew no more.

A voice softly spoke and could be heard in Silmarwen's mind
"What grace has given me...may it pass to you...my time is ending...Namarie..."

Niell stopped and came back to where Silmarwen was leaning against the tree. He sighed, "I had hoped that this wouldn't happen. But we should have checked before we started walking." There was a moment of silence, "can I see it?" he asked somewhat hesitantly. "I may know how to counter the poison."
