Man, everyone here writes really good poems. Mine always sound like they belong on a cartoon or something.

^ Oh c´mon, I´m sure they´re all okay!
I have two from my small collection ...

NARN I ENNOR

Long foreseen in the music of the Ainur
The Valar destined to rule
Beautiful lakes and rivers and behold! the sea
The fairest land for all to see

But stronger than the forces of nature
The Dark Lord gave it a hard lecture
To be destroyed and broken and taken;
The Free Peoples by the Gods forsaken

Many bitter wars and winters
On the shores Hither
And yet behind the blooded lakes
The Dark One is given what he takes

A new power rising in the East
Which destroyed Elenna’s bliss
Under the Sea taken her star;
The Armies marching against the Valar

Ai! Tar Calion the Great, what hath thou done?
Yet it is not his guilt at all that the West is gone
Who was the dark shadow behind the throne?
Sauron accursed: The Lord of Mordor

Faithful Elendil fled to Hither SHores
In the challenge of Mordor
He and Gil-Galad the Elven-King
Overtaken by the might of the Ring

Isildur, son of King
Cut from the Black Hand the fateful Ring
But with his men he was killed
On accurséd Gladden Field

Ring passed into Sméagol's reach;
A creature from family wealthy and rich
Yet banished from his home
Ever after he lived alone

The Ring came to Baggins-thief
The one not stopped by Gollúm's teeth
But far away from ashen lands
He left it to his nephew's hands

And Frodo set on a long quest;
The one without any happines and rest
And so began the cruel War of the Ring;
Yet it ended with the Return of the King

And a poem w/ a very interesting title :P

The Depressing Song

The stories we’ve forgotten in the past
The words that may be our last
The people we’ve considered eternal
Lying in pieces afther their burial

The river that used to flow through my heart
The life that is considered as an art
The burden that we all keep
Once awaken … never again will it sleep

Some things will never change
Mysteries for me shall remain
Love, pain was called
My love it slowed

When all the victories are won
Then our time shall come
Down, down, where I shall breath my last breath
Where death shall never be a threat …

I have some short verses somewhere ... Just must find ´em!

@ForeverFrodo
That was really nice! :)

@Elf Girl
Wow... Two VERY good poems I think. :)

@all
I've one of my english poetries for you...
I wrote it for a friend who is also a LotR-Fan...
It has no title, but I would call it "The long white cloud" or "You & Me". It's about the magic of New Zealand, where I was last summer.

The long white cloud or: You and Me

Take my hand and close your eyes
Forget the mocked tales and insulting lies
Feel the wind in your hair
And follow me to a land distant and fair

Open your eyes and see the long white cloud
hear the pure rain telling you about
This land so mystical and far away
And hear fairies sing an elvish lay

We're walking down the grass-green hills
A man's coming knowing all your wills
Taking a step on his long white beard
He falls down on the wet green earth

Laughing he shows us his hidden hut
He tells us stories in a mus
Thanking him for his delicious tea
We leave him, heading for the sea

The sun's shining after the rain
And you feel fading all your pain
We're reaching impressed the great seas
Of this fascinating world in peace

Thinking that this moment is eternity
You close your eyes and feel wonderful free
Now I have to take your hand
And lead you through the time out of this land

Well... I don't think it's very good (and I don't know whether my english was right), and it hasn't a really end. I-)

Can I join? I've written about 10 poems or so but unfortunately I've lost my muse and vocabulary (*cough* due to certain medication). Here's a sample of my previous work; one of the only two LotR-related ones.

Aerlinn in Ivonwen
A Ivann Cevedhrís, i vêl i ngelais:
Gelaidh lín pannar laiss gelin în,
Ah i iau donn thia ’wain a pengwais.
Fîn lín síriel sui nîn,
Hammen sui galadh di Menel,
Gaw lín na ’lawar Anor rígiel.
O gylf lín phain danna vîdh vallen
Nan gef barch ias si gala i iau galen.
Sylch lín mi nîn Guiar,
A gwaew Manwe mi laiss lín thuiar.
Cevedhrís, a Ivann vain!

O Yavanna Earthqueen, that loves the plants:
Thy trees open their green leaves,
And the tall corn seems new and without stain.
Thy tresses having flowed like waters,
You are clothed like a tree under Heaven;
Thy head having been crowned with golden light by the Sun.
From all thy branches falls a golden dew
Upon the dry soil where now grows the green corn.
Thy roots are in Ulmo’s waters,
And Manwë’s winds breathe in thy leaves.
Kementári, o Yavanna fair!

-----------
The English translation isn't really supposed to be a poem; it's just a translation. I wrote it in Sindarin and that's the way it rhymes and works according to metre. This was inspired by A Elbereth Gilthoniel (Aerlinn in Edhil o Imladris).

@Tyrhael
Oh wow, a poem about me :D
Well, it sounds very good! I'm not so good in Sindarin, I prefer Quenya, so I'm glad that you gave us the translation *grin*

@Frodo & ElfGirl
Thank you both :)

Yes I went to NZ - And yes I know how lucky I am *gg* I miss that country. It's the most beautiful country of the world and I want to immigrate there.

I've another poem for you. It's not LotR-related, I wrote it when I was sad... And no, I don't think that I'll end my life soon ;)

Voices of the ocean

Alone with my melancoly
With my deep dark depression
I can't fight against thee
And my ever-lasting suppression

Alone with my black sympathy
With the thoughts of my life
I don't want to reach eternity
I only want the sharpest knife

Alone with my dark-red blood
I feel fading all my pain
I only became a few years old
My life was just in vain

Alone am I, still alone
And noone knows
I'll go now to the place
Where every voice of ocean goes

The other one was better I think.
And again I'm not sure whether my english is right.

Somethin´ short from me:
Illusion´s never changed...
This is how I feel...
Lying awake and watching as you´re falling down...
This is something real...

@Elfgirl
That one is great :)
And thank you ^^

Another one - I think it's one of my best. I wrote it for a FanFiction for "Stargate Atlantis".

The flight of the Phoenix

Can you hear the fires weep?
They sing their hymn in the dark deep
Crying for the one
To whom they belong

Can you set their souls free?
Innocence only dwells in thee
Full of sins the fires won’t die
Until the one comes for whom they cry

May the fires shine ever so bright
Every day and every night
Once the Phoenix will come
The one to whom the fires belong

I finally found that book that i lost! And that was great Kémi. This is like my only poem LOTR related. It's about Arwen and her love for Aragorn.
*takes deep breath*

Crystal, clear glass
A love pure and so simple
To have no explainations
To be only graceful and hopeful

A small white feather, caught in the wind
Will slowly blow West
Could she let her journey end?

In a darkening hour
Her fate will be sealed
To embrace her heart's will
And all would be healed

A tremendous bond two beings had built
A deepening passion held strong
Like that of a flower that could never wilt

Alas, prayers were made true!
They were at last brought together
Pain nor fear were no longer the troubles
They had created a love and made it last forever

None of it really rhymes but it's the best i have. :/
