I have done what is in my power, yet I fear that may not be enough. Also, Gollum has escaped the wards in Mirkwood; I came to late to track him down; his trail has gone cold even for me to follow. Yet not all news is bad, however; my friends of old are coming to lend a hand in this affair, whatever it may be. How are you, my lady? I hope indeed that the taint of Sauron has not pierced this sanctuary, and all is still well here.
