Believe it or not, I listen to it now and then. Not as much as I used to though...I always had Classic FM on the background during the day or at night when I had trouble sleeping.

I used to do that to, before my radio lost its classic fm reception...i used to love the chiller cabinet.

my favourite peice of classical music is Le Onde, by Ludovico Einaudi. Its really purdy

My absolute favourite piece of classical music is Ride of the Valkyries by Wagner. Just stunning.

Good taste! Wagner wrote amazing music--not for the faint of heart!

I absolutely love it. I loved listening to it on my main stereo on the right setting and just sit and get chills. So awesome.

In fact I'll put it on right now.

I enjoy classical music. I go and see my chamber orchestra often, and I play viola and cello myself. Though lately I've been listening to Trans-Siberian Orchestra (A blend of rock and classical) It blows me away. So, I've been looking into buying an electric cello.

I like trans-siberian orchestra as well :) so you're a cellist huh? have you heard of the group Break of Reality? They make an amazing fusion of metal and classical using only three cellists and a drummer. you should check them out.

Goodness gracious great balls of fire.

I believe you've made my day! Let's see, where to begin? Ah yes.

I've been brought up with classical music since birth. Listening to Beethoven on restless nights. I now play symphonic percussion and I play with many experienced adults, and piano, and I hope some day to learn cello. But my truest dream is to become a conductor for an orchestra. Ah yes, London Philharmonic or even Prague. That is what I want to become, or perhaps also a composer for movie scores? I admire greatly the works of James Horner, Edvard Grieg, John Williams, Peter Tchaichovsky, and Howard Shore. But there are also many, many great others that inspire my early work. I do some composing already, mainly for my school band (though I have never shown my works to anyone) and piano composition. Quite frequently I get a hold on an old college corse of music from an antique shop. And my most prized possesion of all is my baton, a conducting necessity.

I have also just recently seen the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert! And I'm wearing a necklace from there now. ^^ Very good, performing 'Beethoven's Last Night' and a bit of 'Nightcastle'.

I appreciate the works of you all to help spread the magic of the old music. Save our classics!

-'Bax

Wow, I had no idea so many people liked classical music! I never understand people who don't like it. They're timeless and have withstood generations, and there's such a wide variety that everyone should find something they like... but I'm ranting now.

I love it! Camille Saint-Saëns and Tchaikovsky are some of my favorites, especially Danse Macabre. I also like listening to Bach, Mozart and Vivaldi, and the Planets Suite by Holst.

Did you know it's been proven that listening to Bach and Mozart and other composers from that time period can enhance your learning skills?

Yes, i've heard that theory, too. :)

Danse Macbre. I remember trying to sight-read the viola part on my first day of orchestra, and getting horribly lost...

I´m so glad that I found this thread... :-)
I love classical music, most of the music I listen to is classic. I also play the piano.
My favourites are Rachmaninov, Beethoven, Schumann and Chopin...and so many others...

I love classical music as well...

...I enjoy going to the Opera and hearing the blend of music and song...gives me goosebumps!
...Andrea Bocelli, went to hear a concert with him, just before Xmas...what an experience that was!...phew!
Laura Pausini..a fantastic singer

maybe one of the reasons, I enjoy soundtracks, so much
....they take me to places I haven´t seen, nor been..

Of course!!!

I'm really addicted to it. I've listened to many different composers but Mozart wrote the most beautiful themes, in my opinion. :)
