I can't believe it: nobody's said "RENT" yet!!!!!!!!!!! I'm appalled!!!!!!! Anyway, here's my list of fav movie soundtracks:
Rent (My latest favorite!!!!!!!!!!! I <33333333333... it!!!!!!! *sings* "No day but today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!")
LOTR (obviously)
POTC (pirate music..... tee-hee)
Titanic (my absolute favorite song of all time is "My Heart Will Go On"!!!!!!)
Elizabethtown (I usually am not a fan of country music, but this is my exception, cuz some of my favorite songs are on there. Plus, I wouldn't consider every song on here as country)
Phantom of the Opera (I've only seen the movie once, but the songs are awesome! I gotta get the soundtrack)
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (I absolutely <333333 "Wonka's Welcome Song", u know, the songs that goes "Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka, the amazing chocolateir..." That song cracks me up every single time!)
Freaky Friday (surprisingly, it has a bunch of really good songs!)
Wicked (I know this isn't a movie, but it should be! I really wanna see the play sooooo bad!!!!! I absolutely loooooooooooooove this soundtrack!!!!! Plus one of my favorite actresses/singers stars in it, Idina Menzel, from RENT!!!!!!!! So it's automatically one of my favorite soundtracks!!!!!)
Knowing me, I probably left some of my favorite soundtracks out of this list, but oh well.

Is that what Mad World is from? I LOVE that song. It was on a ABC add, and I went to great lengths to a) figure out what the song was, and b) find it! I don't know anyone else, apart from my mum, who likes that song...
Soundtracks I like:
LotR (obviously)
Finding Neverland
Chocolat
Gladiator
The Blue Planet (it was a documentary - my brother has the soundtrack)
King Arthur (don't have it. )
PotC (don't have it either)
Pride and Prejudice (new one)
Star Wars (what I've heard... I don't own any of them)
Shrek
and at the risk of sounding really weird, I'm going to have to put down "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason". I just happen to really like a couple of songs from it at the moment...

My absolute FAVORITE (besides LOTR) is "Princess Mononoke" original soundtrack. Its so haunting! And the lyrics in the theme!
In the moonlight I felt your heart
Quiver like a bowstring's pulse
In the moon's pure light, you looked at me
Nobody knows your heart
When the sun is gone I see you
Beautiful and haunting, but cold
Like the blade of a knife, so sharp and so sweet
Nobody knows your heart
All of your sorrow, grief and pain
Locked away in the forest of the night
Your secret heart belongs to the world
Of the things that sigh in the dark
Oh the things that cry in the dark

I LOVE that song! It's so beautifully melancholic and haunting!
