By the dawn of the next day, Morwen was awake and ready, totally emotionless. She walked to the tent where Fela was being held. She dismissed the guard inside to stand outside and sat on a camp stool facing Fela. "So. Here we are again," sneered Morwen (at this point she's in crazy, no-emotions, Lady Macbeth-esque state of mind). Fela stood with an equally hateful sneer, but Morwen pushed her back to her cot. "Will you admit your crimes agains Rohan and let yourself be taken and punished under Rohirric law?" asked Morwen in a sarcastic tone. Fela gave a short laugh, no humour behind her eyes: "I would rather die than submit to a royal house of horse and sun worshipers. I am above you, and you have no authority over me. I am part of bigger things than you could imagine!" "Predictable. Then it is my duty to kill you." She continued with a cold smile, "Under the law of THIS land, I am to fight you in a 'fair' duel. Though considering our opinions of each other, I'm not sure that particular detail will be adhered to. Do you accept this?" Fela looked down her nose at Morwen and nodded proudly. "Fine. Your weapons and armour shall be returned to you. We will start in one half hour. Heoron!" she called. "Yes, captain?" asked the soldier as he stuck his head in. "One half hour, Northern face!" with that she went out again to the north face.
In thirty minutes, they met at a cleared circle. The men all ringed the 'arena', the officers in front. Morwen stood in the middle, resting her left hand on her sword hilt. Fela was escorted out and left kneeling, as was the custom. Morwen one more time put forward her 'plea' for Fela to repent. She refused, and so they began. Fela attacked first. She charged at Morwen, sword raised as to cut off her head. Morwen knelt and batted Fela's blade away with a flick of her blade. She used the momentum to spin and stand up. Fela charged again and they went into close combat.
Morwen could tell she was not the superior swordsman. She was getting tired, and Fela was still fighting as hard as ever. "Shield! Shield!" she yelled to the side, using her unused arm to motion to the side. Someone flung a nondescript green shield about ten feet into the arena, too far to reach. Cursing, Morwen mustered her strength and parried one of Fela's blows, making her loose her balance (she fought on the balls of her feet, no heel.) Morwen ran to the shield and stood up just in time to block a ferocious slash from Fela. Fela said just loud enough for Morwen to hear, "So you must hide behind a shield to stay in the battle? You are weak!" Morwen panted back, "Not weak, just...ill...conditioned!" Fela stepped up the attack, hitting Morwen on the upper arm and back of her hand. "Ah! Hlsceaða don thaet!"
They fought without any major incident but for more scratches on Morwen's face and neck. She was exhausting herself, and her adrenaline was running out. "It seems that the end is evident for you! Any last words before you meet the void?" asked Fela with a maniacal gleam in her eyes. "Yes..." Morwen wheezed back, "a shield is not always...a defence...it is an attack!" she struck out with the shield, catching Fela in the stomach. She went over double, as Morwen slapped her across the back with the flat of her blade, making Fela wince backward in pain. Morwen then lashed her stomach with the very tip of the sword. Fela howled in pain, blood and tears mixing. She said quietly, as she crouched, crippled on the ground, "Mercy! I beg you..." Morwen snarled and cut her throat. No one else heard Fela's last plea.

(Oh... my... God.... you are in a cranky mood! I have suspicions, but will not voice them [here] for fear of castration... And what in the name of meringue pies is up with all the Lady M stuff? And never say the name of MacPoot on the forum, or thou shalt cause another crash or related peril [after you hang a thief]!) It is too similar to a theatre to have no fear of such curses! Okay, now I am safe to go near; I'm off my crazy actor seizure. For now.)

(No, I've been in a very good mood recently, in all actuallity. Lady M has a big scene where she asks either God or the Devil, probably the latter, to take away all of her femanine grace and motherly affections and to turn her into, basically, a man .)

(Fela was being punished under MY laws, not YOURS. Therefore you didn't need to be present in order for me to serve out a hot, steaming plate of justice (mixed with woop@$$). Remember, the winners write history, and so do the recognized kingdoms of ME.)

(Thankyou. And Artinwe didn't kill Adrod, he simply attacked him. As he said, his sword was sheathed.)

Morwen surveyed her work just as her stony facade cracked. She dropped her sword, covered her face with her hands and fell to her knees sobbing. Eohric pushed through the other officers and ran to her. She cried into his shoulder. He picked her up and carried her to her tent, yelling at the other officers to dispose of the traitor's body. He left her lying on her cot covered in furs, shaking and feverish. Eohric once again went to the soldiers and made the announcement that Morwen was not to be disturbed, and went back to heat water and herbs to help reawaken Morwen.
(Here is where I will leave it: She is only semi-conscious, and will remain so for the next 5 days or so, seeing as how I will be in Colorado skiing! You can PP her however you like, she just can't wake up, i.e., talking in her sleep, etc.)

(Fool that thou art, Morwen! Did you think that I did not know of Lady M's whatevers. Have you ever performed Shakespeare? Hmm?!! [And if you have, I will feel betrayed as a friend because you did'n't tell me.]
And I meant for Artinwe to be pinned as well. I had typed that and then I thout, "Drat, powerplaying!" and deleted it.)

(Umm... what? I'm not lucky to have felt betrayed. And that does'n't really count as sarcasm either....)
