Erika sat by the lake trying to study but couldn't. The Ball kept coming up. She didn't have a date yet and hoped someone would ask her soon. No she thought to herself. You hope Remus will ask you but it probaly won't happen so get over it. Sighing she tried to concentrate on her potions essay.

Dani heard the bell ring and looked up from her Transfiguration book. She snapped her book shut and shoved it into her bag. She came out of the classroom laughing with James and Sirius. "You guys are so weird.." she said, struggling to breathe.

James arched an eyebrow and looked down at Dani. He was still much taller then her.
"You say that we are weird? " he said and grabbed her under arm "And what makes you say something so serious about me and my very noble friend Mr. Sirius Black? You know, that is very painful." he said dramatically and discreetly grinned to his best buddy.

Dani smiled and raised an eyebrow at James. Darn him. Why'd he have to mention Sirius? Now she had to insult him..."Noble?" she asked, a jokingly skeptical tone in her voice. "Well, now, there's the fact that I can't ever find either one of you outside of the detention hall on weekends...Secondly, you're supposed to be the two best-looking guys in the whole school and still don't have dates for the Ball." She smirked and crossed her arms at that last remark. She expected a serious retaliation, but was already preparing remarks in her head. She had brought up a very sensitive topic. She herself didn't have a date, either, but that wasn't as much her fault as their situation was their fault - guys were expected to ask the girls. At least in Dani's world. It wasn't her fault no one had asked her.

Lily sat there, studying her potions book, stealing glances at James,"So, you know who you're going with?" she asked.

Fumbling with his book, Remus came out of Tranfiguration behind Dani and bumped into James.

"I don't think you two should be going to the ball," he jested in his prefect voice. "It might ruin your reputations if you go alone."

Sirius raised an eyebrow at both Moony and Danni.
"You know how to put a pair of guys down don't ya!" he replied grinning at James.
Quickly he packed up his books and slung his bag onto his shoulder and followed the rest out of the classroom.

Sirius walked along in silence for a moment, then he spotted Snape and grinned.
"Well look on the brightside Prongs, Snivelus doesn't have a date either" he said to James in the loudest voice possible.

Fiona sighed, hearing the lunch bell she closed the book she had been working from in her free period, slipped it into her bag and walked out of the library and into the streams of students making their way to the Great Hall.

As she made her way through the crowds she started to hear a few people yelling above the rest, she turned and rolled her eyes seeing her cousin Remus, and his two best friend James Potter and Sirius Black, she diverted her course towards them where she finally spotted Danni in the midst of them
"Hey guys" she said smiling at them all

Dani burst into laughter and high-fived Remus. She loved to poke fun at them - playfully, of course. "Nice," she said to him. She then looked at Sirius. "Aw, come on, Sirius, don't look so down. Maybe there'll be a little fourth year who's managed to evade guys' askings," she said, grinning playfully. She usually never messed with them that much, but this was a sensational topic. Besides, she secretly thought - so secretly that she did not admit it in her own mind - that if she bothered him enough with the issue, he might ask her. She looked up as they mentioned Snape. True, it was sometimes entertaining when they picked on him, but if they were caught, bye-bye dance.

"How are ya, Dani?" Lily asked, sighing, she was tired- and frusrated.

Dani looked over at Lily. "Hey, Lily!" Lily was the only other girl in the world who knew about her thing for Sirius. She grinned at her and raised an eyebrow, communicating in one brief look the phrase: 'James is still dateless.'

Dani gave her the 'Like I don't know that already...' look with a raised eyebrow and ended the two-second conversation with a question. "So - are you going to the dance?"
