He wiped his eye and sighed.

Tindomerel looked at Rhayader. "I'll come with you," said Tindomerel, walking with him, rubbing her shoulder, "I have to get this wound looked at again. It's not healing correctly."
That was true. The wound wasn't healing very well. It had started opening itself again when she had been firing arrows. A small trickle of blood was streaming out of the wound.

Rhayader nodded and walked in. There were many men being seen to by the few healers but they had been made comfortable, so it was peaceful. A young woman came over to them.
"Can I help?"
Rhayader nodded.
"We need our wounds looked at."
She led them both to a bed and sat them down while she began looking at Rhayader's wound and rebandaging it.

Tindomerel showed the healer her wound, slipping her sleeve down so the healer could fully see it. "It's not healing correctly," said Tindomerel, as the healer looked at it closely, "I've had it for a short time, but it should be healing itself better than this."
"How did you get it?" asked the healer, whipping away the blood.
"Goblin arrow," said Tindomerel, remembering the tunnel, "It barely nicked me."
"When did it re-open?"
"Um...when I was shooting arrows," said the elf.
"Well, there's your answer," said the healer, re-binding it, "Don't use those muscles to much. If you do, then it'll open itself again."
Tindomerel grumbled some swear words, earning herself some looks fro the healer. She was going to ask Rhayader if he could teach her archery, but could do that now. Or could she...?

Rhayader would have normaly smiled at such coment but his past was taking his thoughts. He stared for a long time at the floor. He only came out of his trance when the healer offered him a drink.

Tindomerel looked at Rhayader, as the healer finished wrapping her wound. "Okay," she said, after watching stare at the floor, "Something is either wrong or you seem to have fallen in love with the floor."
Tindomerel gave Rhayader a half smile.

Rhayader looked at her very confused.
"Wha? Oh well I was just thinking about something that happened to me a while ago."
Rhayader sighed.
"I guess I have to tell you now right?"

She really did want to know and her eyes showed it. They were sparkling. She was extremely curious.

Rhayader nodded.
"Around 5 years ago i met an elf, like you. His name was Eldathrion. We met in Ithilen, I was tracking a deer and so was he. We both shot our arrows at the same time and argued over who had the right to claim it. Eventually we agreed to share and settled down to camp.
"Me and Eldathrion got on really well, we both enjoyed hunting and become good friends. He taught me everything I know about archery and I showed him a few tricks with a knief. One day we heard something from a nearby cavern. As usual we argued over who should go in, eventually I won the arguement and went in very quietly.
"Inside there was a group of ferral orcs. The were ripping a poor family of deer apart, alive. I hid behind a boulder and listened when Eldathrion ran in and called to me. The orcs stopped, looked at him and threw spears at him. Three hit him and he fell to the ground. I was .... shocked and angered. I rose to my feet drew my sword and killed each one in a vengence and rage that I promised myself never to get into again. After I found he was still barely alive. He told me to finish it. I saw him lying there... In tremedous pain ... I ... I... killed him..."
Rhayader broke down and began weeping for his lost friend.

Tindomerel hated seeing him like this. She touched his shoulder, tenderly. "It's okay," said Tindomerel, speaking softly, stroking Rhayader's hair lightly, "He wanted to end the pain."
She looked at Rhayader, worried. "You said he was like me?" asked Tindomerel, slowly.

Rhayader blurted out a laugh.
"Yes... stupid."
He looked at her and smiled.
"But brave."

Tindomerel smiled. "Are you calling me stupid?" she asked, raising an eyeborw at him, looking amused.
She tried to hide a smile, the corners of her mouth twitching slightly. Her eyes locked with his. A smile broke out.
"Well," she said, "I do thank you for calling me brave."

Tindomerel leaned over and kissed him on the lips. She pulled back, giving Rhayader a lop-sided smile.

Tindomerel blinked at what she did. She hadn't been thinking.
"Um..." she said, not really knowing what to say, "I...I don't know?"
She tucked some of her short hair behind her ear, looking away from Rhayader.

Rhayader placed a hand on her face and gently moved her face to meet his. He smiled at her, this the only real time he had noticed beauty within her. He leaned forward and returned the favour, kissing her on the lips.

Tindomerel was taken aback. But yet she let him kiss her. And she enjoyed it. Father's going to kill me, she thought.
She wrapped her arms around Rhayader's neck, closing her amber eyes, her eyelashs brushing against his cheek.
At the moment, she didn't care that she was an elf, and he a mortal.
