Arinae shook her head shamedly. "No, I'm sorry..." she let out a sigh, gazing across the fields, lit only vaguely by the night sky. "I shouldn't have even tried... I know my place, and it's here," she bowed her head, her voice quiet and wearied, not physically but emotionally.

Arinae shook her head again. "No, I'm not strong, I am as weak as they, I am mortal, unsure of myself, vonerable to poor judgement." She smiled ruefully, turning her gaze inward once again. "Eomer could have chosen one better than I..."

Rhayader shook his head.
"But he chose you because he knew you could the men. Look around, the city and it's people are safe beacause what you chose to do. If it wasn't for you many more could have died."

"But what if all the lives that have been lost were because of my misjudgement? Perhaps I had urged the men onward too frequently and thus wearied them quicker than they should have been..." Arinae sighed and shook her head at herself. "I guess all this is just getting to me," she turned her gaze upward towards the stars. "By the grace of the Valar alone have I held up this long..."

Arinae forced a smile, "I thank you, Rhayader, but you yourself had before spoken the words, 'and why should I listen to the commands of a woman' to yourself... and don't think I didn't hear it, because I did." She managed a slight smirk.

Rhayader blushed amd stepped back.
"Well I was... a little annoyed with you that's all."
He smiled back.

Arinae smiled lightly and turned to look over towards the enemy camp. "Let us hope it doesn't come to going that far..." She suddenly frowned, her expression puzzled. "What the... now why would they do that?" she mumbled to herself. The enemy seemed to be moving away, headed westward, their lessened numbers moving in unison, angling towards the mountains.

Rhayader laughed and pointed calling out to the other men.
"They flee! They fear us!"
Many of the other men climbed onto the wall to see and cheered at the sight, it looked like they had won.
"Victory!"

Arinae relaxed upon seeing this and smiled at the cheering of the men, but as a precaution, had a few scouts follow the broken enemy to be sure they were truly fleeing.

Arinae shook her head. "No, because it doesn't seem right... orcs live for blood and death and the men do not care if they send the orcs into a hopelessly outnumbered battle and have them all killed, as long as they kill while going down... it seems strange that they would just leave like that... and why towards the mountains? Why not head for the pass from where they had come?" She pondered for a moment, her expression troubled.

"Perhaps they know of our reinforcements heading to Edoars? They would not risk an open battle with heavy cavalry"

Tindomerel knew Arinae was right, both in her mind and in her gut. Something was wrong. "I agree with Arinae," said Tindomerel, watching the enemy move out of the corner of her eye, "Something is wrong."
She looked at Rhayader, a slightly worried look on her face.
