Tindomerel shifted slightly. She wasn't so sure. She had a strange feeling running through her. She gripped Rhayader's hand, tightly.

Rhayader smiled asuringly at her.
"I wouldn't worry."
He noticed a bit of comotion around the gate. He leaned sideways to see beter. Airnae was talking to a scout.
"See the scout's come back, nothing to fear."
He turned and smiled at her.

Arinae walked away from the scout with a troubled look on her face. She sat on one of the steps leading to the wall and winced as she shifted her arm in its sling. Placing her forehead in her palm and her elbow on her knee, she closed her eyes in deep thought.

Tindomerel looked to where Arinae stood, speaking with the scout. She watched then she stood up, rather quickly, letting go of Rhayader's hand.
"Something's wrong," said Tindomerel, looking at Arinae's face, seeing that something was clearly wrong.

Rhayader stode and looked at into Tindomerel's face.
"Hmm wait I'll find out."
He walked down the steps and sat next to her.
"Airnae. Tindomerel has this idea that something is wrong. Is there?"

Arinae didn't seem to hear him at first, her thoughts lost. "Hmm?... Actually yes... " She sighed and shook her head in frustration. "They've taken Helms Deep... I should have known that is where they were headed," she scolded herself. "They have small groups joining them within the safety of Helms Deep..."

Rhayader nearly fell off his step. He sat up and looked at her.
"Your serious?!"
He saw no change in emotion upon her face.
"How?! I thought Helms Deep was inpenetrable!"

"We pulled most of our force from there to assist in the battle here..." Arinae mumbled. "All who were left either scattered or were killed." It was all she could do to keep her voice from giving way to her emotions.

Tindomerel heard Rhayader yelp and started toward them, catching Rhayader's and Arinae's words. "Helm's Deep?" asked Tindomerel, her voice turning small and cracking slightly.

Rhayader looked shocked. He never had imagined this. He stood.
"Excuse me."
He walked back to Tindomerel and slumped down on the box they were sat on.
"They've taken Helms Deep."
He rested his head in his hand and let out a sigh.

Tindomerel heard Rhayader's yelp and knew something was wrong. When he came back, he told her that Helm's Deep had been taken.
"Helm's Deep?" asked Tindomerel, her voice turning small and cracking slightly.
She shivered at the thought of the place. She faught back memories that had been zooming in her mind. Painful memories...

He looked up at her and saw something more behind her eyes.
