His ebony eyes flickered shut, his whole face at peace.

Lenne smiled and covered his body with a blanket. She caressed his cheek with her hand and then stood up straight. She wrapped her arms around herself and then walked out of the room; closing the door behind her. She walked to her room and went to sleep.

Dorian woke the next morning, he dressed and washed quickly, hoping to say goodbye to Lenne before Kael caught him awake.

Lenne was awake, but brushing her hair. She set the brush on a nearby table and got out a beautiful golden necklace. She took a deep breath and put it on. She walked out of her room and knocked on Dorian's door.

Dorian opened his door, his face deathlike and exhausted “Good morning Lenne…” his smile was strained, his voice barely a cracked whisper, terror at the prospect of going with Kael coursed through his veins like poison… Even his eyes looked tired.

Dorian ran his fingers through his hair and let her in. he perched on the edge of his bed trembling all over, his head ached and his stomach fluttered terribly, making it uncomfortable for him to be still.
“I must look terrible…” he let out a short bark of laughter, although his smile didn’t reach his eyes. “I can’t believe I’m going… Valar knows where he’s taking me.” His fingers moved restlessly across the sheets.
