well, I'm not sure, it comes from a Lord of the Rings custom level on Warcraft III. Doubt they're the real names, though it's fun to imagine.

^ There IS a female Nazgul!
Yes the ring poem said 'mortal men doomed to die' but it also said 'elven kings' so obviously J.R.R Tolkien wasn't much on the Gender Equality side.

Actually the only Nazgul Tolkein ever named were The Witch King, and the second in rank - Khamûl. That list is found a lot on the net, but it doesn't actually come directly from Tolkien. Though they've become popular and a lot of people believe they should be considered fact. I don't agree, as Tolkien never wrote it.

As for J.R.R. Tolkien not being on the gender equality side, I disagree. The books (mostly the Silmarillion history stuff) do not necessarily represent his own views, it's just what he chose to write into the story. I actually think he was making a comment on it, especially when you see him include a character like Eowyn, and Arwen who became Queen of Gondor. Let us not forget that it was Sauron who gave out the rings, and I doubt he was an advocate for women's rights.

I found that he glorified the women in the stories. Look at Luthien, Melian, Galadriel, and Eowyn/Arwen again. They were very strong, powerful, respected women.

Might I also remind you that Tolkien wrote these books decades ago, and when I compare LotR to CoN, there is far more gender equality in Tolkien's work.

*likes to debate but doesn't have anything to comment on Beri's speech*
*thinks of coming up with a conflicting argument just for the sake of the debate*
*forgets about it as she sees Tanth and Beri have gummi bears*
