A very funny thing was: my little sister was playing with her dolls a while ago. She has two male's : a dark haired and one red haired... She called the dark haired: the beard man( referring to Aragorn) and the red one was one of the Hobbits, and she had a discussion with herself about who it should be, and she came out with Merrin and his child would be Pippy...

:teehee:

My friend is supposedly reading The Hobbit and she's trying to catch me out or make up stuff about hobbits, trying to make me believe it.
She would say something like:
"Hobbits love wearing fur!"
"Um... no they don't..."
"It says in the beguinning of the book!"
"No it doesn't...."
"Yes it does! You haven't even read 'The Hobbit'!"
"I still know hell of a lot about it though!"

:duh:

After seeing all three movies, my mom asked, "So wait, Gandalf was a man, wasn't he? So why did he live so long?" :duh:
And then I tried to explain to her why Isildur took the Ring for his own, and why there weren't any kings after Elendil, but she said, "Oh, so they just can't be king unless they have the help of the Ring." :duh: once again.
And then my friend asked, "So wait, that one lady with the dark hair is an elf?" (Meaning Arwen) and this was after she had seen all three. Some people are just hopeless. *sigh*

When I was seeing ROTK in the theater, at the part after Shelob's lair when Sam pulls the cobwebs off Frodo's face and he's so pale, I heard a little kid ask "Is Frodo ok?"

[quote="Luky"]
And my mom knew that I have already read the book, so she saw the movies asking me all the time "Is he going to die?" , "Is she going to die?".. grrrrrr.
:)

I made my friend watch the movies, & she did the same thing!!!! in fotr, she flipped out when gandalf & boromir died (which i'm sure we all did....hehe) so in TTT when pip & merry are trying to escape the orcs & looks like pip gets trampled by a horse, she's like "did he die? did he die? no, pip can't die!!! why did pip die?? did he die??" & then when araogrn falls of the cliff, she's like "he died!!! how could he die? hey, did he really die? is he like gandalf? will he come back to life?? or is he like boromir? is he really dead??? DID HE REALLY DIE?!?!?!" & so on & so forth. it's really annoying.

Well, once a friend and I were arguing about whitch was better: The Sight or Lord of te Rings And she says "Frodo and Sam are g** and I won't watch a movie about g** people." Then turns to my other friend and says:"Did you see Will and Grace last night?"

Me and y little sister were watching the "They're taking the hobbits to Isengard" video, and I pointedout Pippin to her because she was wondering which one he was. Later, I told her he was my favorite character, and she gasps "Megan! He drinks drugs!" so then we went into this huge debate over what drugs were and whether he was drinking one or not. We finally reached the conclusion that ale is not the Middle-earth equivalent of a drug (she wouldn't believe me for the longest time)

The other day I said "Namarie" to my youth pastor (who likes LotR) and he thought I was speaking French.

My dad, the first time he saw fotr: “So, what’s this movie called again?”
My dad soon before watching RotK: “Who’s Frodo?”
My dad, after I answered his question about who Gollum was:“Oh, you mean the bipolar guy
And a few quotes from my mom:
When Frodo and co. arrived at Rivendell “Is that a good place to stay?”
When she saw Galadrial for the first time: “Is she good?”
When she was trying to describe the cover of fotr to a employee at Barnes and Noble: “I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the movie, but it has the boy Frodo, and Gyandoff, and the greasy man with the sword…”

My little sister used to call fotr "Frodo and the Mean, Mean Orcs" (actually, she may have just called it "Mean, mean Orcs" lol :P ). And one of my other sisters has had many lotr-related misunderstandings (when she isn't outright teasing me about it). She also would get Saruman and Sauron confused, but she had an interesting way of telling them apart (when refering to them, at least). To her, Sauron sounded like the Indonesian word "sarong," which means a kind of tube of clothe that you wear around your waist, for those of you who don't know. ;) So she called Sauron "Lord Blanket" (because a blanket is kind of like a sarong), and since his name is similar to Saruman (to her, at least), she called him "Wizard Blanket."
Another funny story is that one time while we were at my grand-parents house, , the "sarong" sister, another sister of mine, and I were jumping on my grandparents' trampoline with my one of our cousins. Since there were four of us, and we only had socks on our feet despite the fact that it was night-time in winter in Kentucky, i decided that we could pretend to be the four hobbits. (Since while we weren't barefoot, we were wearing less footwear than would be considered normal in those circumstances. ;) ) So anyway, I was Sam, in order to let one of my sisters be Frodo, since she wanted to (tho i would have liked very much to be), and i decided which of the other two hobbits my "sarong" sister and our cousin should be (based on which one of them had the thinner nose, because i think Pippin has a thinner nose than Merry :P ), and we bounced away on that trampoline, occasionally pausing to shout "Get off the road" whenever a car drove by on the street that goes through the neighboring field, at which point we would lie down on the trampoline until the "danger" had passed. Of course, my "sarong" sister and cousin eventually gave up trying to remember which one of them was Merry and which was Pippin, and eventually decided they were each "Merry Pippins" (as in Mary Poppins). lol. I think i'll end this post now. ;)
