Sirithadar crested the final ridge and looked down on the fair and hidden valley of Rivendell. In recent years, many people had removed to it, of both Men and Elves. He had not come in many years, though he used to be a frequent visitor. He wiped his sword blade with a rag, the metal gleaming coldly through the blood. The orcs were getting too close to Rivendell, and it seems that the sentinels around the valley were not as wary as they should be. Spurring his horse on, he headed through the short area of forest and across the bridge. Feanor, ruler of Rivendell since the departure of Elladan and Elrohir, was talking with an elf who Sirithadar did not recognize. "Mae Govannen, Mellon," he said, bowing at the waist, grinning at the sight of his old friend. "It has been too long."

He was so bored that he wanted to speak with Feanor. He was not there. So he decided to see LAdy Este again ask about her husband. However, he remembered not to look at her.

"What are you going to do about it?" Sirithadar wondered. "I can take them on on my own, but I cannot destroy the entire threat. I can make them fear any rumor of my presence, but I cannot be everywhere. If you raise an army, I shall go with you."
