Tindomerel shifted in her sleep, not knowing how the battle was going. She yawned in her sleep, nuzzling against Rhayader, sleeping quite peacefully. She continued to sleep, Nimloth watching the elf, making sure she was alright.
The she-wolf then lay her head back down, closing her eyes to rest.

Rhayader slowly woke and put a hand the elf maiden's face. He smiled as he stroked back her hair soflty and listened to the battle. The clash of steel had him focused. Who was winning? Were his friends well? He sighed gently and looked up at the roof of the tent, continuing to listen.

Jax continued fighting as long as there were enemies infront of him.

*waits for the others now*

Tindomerel continued to sleep, nuzzling into Rhayader. She let out a soft sigh. She nearly woke at the sound of the clashing metal. She shifted a bit, then calmed.
Nimloth looked up again, curiously. The she-wolf blinked at Rhayader a moment, then set her head back down, listening to the battle with him. Her eyes closed, but her furry white ears were pricked straight up, twitching slightly.
Lebethron stood by the post, after one of the Rohirrim tied him there. He wasn't too happy. He watched the battle, wanting to go a stomp on some orcs. His coat was caked with mud and he wasn't happy that Tindomerel hadn't had the time to give him a rub down. And that she was just sitting around and sleeping!
What could be more fun then giving Lebethron a rub down?

Khamdul fought his way down the wall. He kicked a Wild Man as Khamdul descended the stairs. He then fought his way across the courtyard. He stabbed an Orc that was in his way. He blocked an Orc axe and slashed at his owner.

Jax took out three more orcs. For the first time he had a moments rest to look around at the situation, breaking out of his near trance like fight.

The orc forces were dwindling. He raced over to the nearest one, now even more determined than ever.

While Orcs and Wild Men were slaughtered in the Deep, impatience was rising elsewhere. The Master had indeed foreseen this, and thus it was time for this second stage of conflict. Not only had He sent a few thousand Orcs into the Glittering Caves to wait for the signal of their Captain, but also had troops of Wild Men and fell creatures marched from the northeast heading for Helms Deep and were moving nearer with great pace. His plan of enclosing the Men of the West with no options to flee was beginning to take shape. The enemy, and first step of a true threat, was approaching, even when it seemed as though Gondorians and Rohirrim alike sensed victory.

OOC: Am very sorry, also for this very short post. Have been busy lately. When homework strikes, it strikes hard. Along with other stuff. I'll try to post again later today or tomorrow./OOC

Tindomerel opened her amber eyes, not really knowing why she woke up so suddenly. She looked at Rhayader, yawning slightly. "Hi," she said, softly, smiling sweetly at him, "How are you? Feeling any better?"
She heard the clashing of metal and her ear twitched slightly at the sound.

Rhayader came out of his trance like stare and looked at her.
"Oh ... yes I think I am, how about you?"

"I'm fine," said Tindomerel, grinning at him, sitting up, slightly, with another yawn.
She stretched like a cat after it's had a long nap. She looked back at Rhayader, still smiling at him sweetly. "Glad to know you're feeling better," she said, leaning over to kiss him lightly.

[Okay, think a bit of fast-forward would be in hand here. The fighting yould continue for a very long time! I wish to give our "enemy" leader Miremiel a chance to cook us a treat if she has time so no use in letting her wait! *grins*]

The great fighting subdued down as the enemy forces were slaughtered almost entirely. Casualties had been counted and the wounded were mended while the rest of the men cleared out the remaining enemy forces with their swords, spears and swift arrows.

Aemornion managed to take a few longer breaths as the endless swinging of his heavy blade at a fast pace tired him down to a certain extent. He flung the helmet off from his head and placed it underneath his arm while using his sword for support and leaning against it. He then cast a gaze towards the sky seeing the clouds come up closer towards them and it may be less then an hour before they reach the Deep and break out the sun and hold it trapped for what it may seem for a long time.

It was late afternoon as the sun set to the west and became shuned by the clouds. Soon rain started to trickle in big drops. Suddenly a loud thunder and lighting streaked the sky as the skies opened and let the rain loose almost in curtains. Both Rohirrim and the Gondorians were soaked and the rain started to wash away the still fresh enemy blood from their armor. Hearts sunk as the dreary greyness opened up all around them closing all color except one.... crimson and black.

The foul orcs and the wild men were piled outside the deep as the main gate was flung open once again that was held against them only a day before. The deep and the Hornburg were once again in the hands of the Rohirrim leaders.

Aemornion looked around, a strange and ill favoured feeling rested deep within him but he was satisfied that the enemy was cleaned out from the fortress. Men were also in a better mood even if the cold rain poured on them.

Aemornion went off seeking for Arinae for both assistance and council what to do next. His gaze strayed towards the dark gates of the closed Glittering Caves, somehow the gates had an ill favoured look and curiousity was in his mind. He went on swift searching for the Rohirrim lady

Khamdul continued slashing at the Wild Men. He made his way into the Keep

(Just out of curiousity, will the battle ever end?"

(I think it's over now)

The rain did little to dampen Jax's spirits... on the contrary. The cool rain and cleansing feel energized his mind and body.

(Yes, Aemornion has ended it for us.... Thank you Aemorn, it was a most excellent post!)

After the battle had quieted, Arinae cleaned her sword against her cloak, adding to the crimson stains already on the cloth. She took a heavy breath, her limbs worn from the constant weight and pressure of blows, the muscles which were still healing in her right shoulder aching with a heightened pain, the chilling rain adding to the overwhelming strain.

Rubbing at the sore shoulder with her left hand after having sheathed her sword, Arinae sat shakily down on a step, heedless to the gathered puddles of blood mixed with water upon the stony surface. Her green gaze scanned her surroundings, the fallen enemy, then the fallen comrades, a sorrowed look coming to her eyes, replacing the flame that had burned during the battle. Rain now drenched her, as she pulled her helmet off, her hair clinging to her as wet and bloody strands of mud-darkened flaxen. No wounds, save for a minor slice in her right arm and across her cheek had she, even though she wore no armor other than the Rohirrim helmet that had been resting upon her head a moment earlier.

All had fought well and bravely, none had turned to run, none had stepped back in retreat, all had given their most, and some even their lives. Brothers, sons, and fathers wept over the lost ones whom they knew closely, and from within the Hornburg, village woman who knew of healing emerged to assist with the wounded, bringing with them a much needed supply of torn cloth and even a few satchels of precious herbs were provided.

Children who had also been trapped with the villagers in the Hornburg, were kept away from the crimson sight and out of the drenching rain. Blankets where brought out for those who felt chilled, and the remaining men came to drag the fell bodies of the enemy to a pile, while comrades, Gondorian and Rohirrim alike, were gathered and prepared for burial.

Arinae cast her glance farther, beyond the slain and the wounded, to the mouth of the Glittering Caves. Thoughts filled her mind, questions and a foreboding of ill, but mostly memories of the sight she had seen several years back when she had come in peaceful times, the beauty of the caves. The visions of battle drowned the pleasant memories, just as the rain drowned the ground, causing a mud slicked surface.

Letting loose a sneeze, Arinae subconciously held to her shoulder, her gaze lowered to the ground with a dismal expression. The battle was over, and it was hope lifting to have accomplished it, but weariness and the sights of the fallen were too overwhelming to allow Arinae to rejoice in the fact.

Healers were called in from the camp, as many as could be spared, and the Hornburg and postern were used as holding space for the wounded and imobile. An attempt was made to keep as many as was possible out of the rain, yet still the effort was made to keep such chaos and grim sights from the eyes of the innocent youths who still sat within the Hornburg.
