After filling up the target a couple more times, Felicity finally gave up on the archery practice and gathered up her arrows, then sighed and headed back up to the Palace, where she'd then go to the gardens.

After an hour of searching, Ev finally sighed and let her hands fall noisily to her side. "Go - DNit!" was all that could be heard from her frustrated mouth trying to say, 'Gosh DARN it!' She sighed frustratedly and went back to her other book, checking the time: one hour left.


Ed noticed Felicity leaving, and sheathed his sword. He followed her quietly to the gardens.

"What in the...?" Peter muttered to himself, having heard Evelyn's outburst as he walked past her, and he looked back. "Something wrong here?" he asked, leaning against the nearest bookshelf.

Felicity stopped by her room and dropped off her bow and quiver, not realizing Edmund had been following her, then she sighed and went out to the gardens, where she sat on one of the larger benches, then lay down and stretched out along the length of the bench.

Ev jumped and full-on screamed/yelped with surprise for a moment, then laughed. "Sorry - just frustrated..." she said, still laughing.


Ed followed her to the bench, but decided to let her sit for a moment before waking her. He sat on a nearby bench.

Peter shook his head a little and chuckled. "I figured as much. And sorry..didn't mean to startle you like that. Seems I'm getting good at that.."

Sighing quietly, Felicity stared up towards the sky, while fiddling absentmindedly with one of her sleeves.

Ev smiled. "I admit - you are. Seems your footsteps get quieter every time," she said, laughing. She shook her head. "No..I just can't find a particular book here....or rather an author. I admit, I didn't expect to find it, but still, when I didn't..."



Ed looked down, then started to look around at the plants and flowers. He spotted a particularly nice one, and picked it. He looked up at Felicity, then down at the flower in his hand. He walked over to her and held it out to her, smiling jokingly.

"You weren't too happy." Peter finished for her, looking on the verge of laughter.

Felicity jerked upright with a soft gasp, and put a hand to her chest. "Lord, Ed..I didn't realize you were out here.."

"Yeah," said Ev, starting to laugh. "Go ahead, laugh. I know you want to - and it <i>is</i> funny."


Ed smiled. "Sorry - didn't mean to surprise you. Just thought you'd like that."

"Very.." Peter admitted, finally giving in to the laughter. "Though I don't want to say what it sounded like you said."

Felicity smiled and took the flower, then reached up and brushed her hair behind her ear, before putting the flower behind her right ear. "Thank you.."

"Oh, yeah," she said, blushing slightly. "Sometimes my tongue doesn't move just right, and words come out incorrectly....just so you know," she said, looking up at him with a raised eyebrow, "I said 'gosh darn it,' - you know I don't swear."


Ed smiled, then said, "It looks lovely."

"I know, I know. I didn't say you did, though some could possibly think you did." he said, raising his hands slightly in a placating gesture.

Felicity smiled as well, then looked down at her hands, which were folded in her lap.

Ev smiled, then sighed and said, "Oh, well. I guess I'll have to live without my book..." and walked over toward her window seat, where sat the other books she had been looking at.

Peter smiled a little and watched Evelyn for a moment.

Ev looked up at him, feeling his eyes on her. "Care to join me?" she asked, "I have about a half hour more off for the morning..."

Ed sat down next to Felicity, then asked, "Everything alright?"
