"Yes," said Ev, with raised eyebrows. She sighed, comically feigning frustration, and put her hand on her hip. "You know, if you're going to be this difficult, I may just have <i>her</i> take care of you, and I'll wait on Ed," she said with a straight face.

Peter shook his head vigorously. "No..I've had enough herbs for today, thanks.."

Ev smiled. "Alright, then. You're going to have to settle for me and my handful of herbs - it's for your own good." She took another cloth and started mopping up the sweat on his forehead. "The pain's that bad, huh?" she asked, careful not to hit him with her elbow or wrist.

"Yeah..it is..I'm going to definitely be avoiding horses for quite a while after this.." Peter replied, voice lowered.

Ev smiled sympathetically at him, then looked down as she reached for the wet cloth and wrung it out. "That's too bad - I enjoyed that day of riding we had the other day." She turned back to him with the damp cloth, and began to wipe his forehead. "But, then again, I suppose your personal well-being is more important than what I like or dislike," she said, laughing and grinning.

Peter smiled back, but didn't dare laugh. After a minute, he yawned. "Well...at least that herb is beginning to kick in.."

"I think I'm going to try and go to sleep now.." Peter said softly, before closing his eyes.

Ev smiled and laughed softly. "You do that," she said. After he fell asleep, she sat there, through the heat of the afternoon, occasionally staring out the windows, not wanting to go down to the library to fetch a book. Eventually, the heat of the late afternoon set in and made her eyelids droopy. She put the side of her forehead in her hand, her elbow on the nightstand, trying to stay awake. She looked at him. Still asleep...she looked away, and thought, <i>Well, five seconds of closed eyes won't do much harm...</i> she closed her eyes, and her head slowly slipped out of her hand, and slid all the way down to her elbow.


Ed looked over at Felicity, then reached for his water again as he tried to surpress his coughs. "You know," he said hoarsely as he coughed again, "If you get this cough, I'll never forgive myself, or Lucy and Susan..."

Felicity shook her head a little. "I probably won't get it..I don't get sick that easily." she said, trying to sound reassuring to both him and herself, though she knew she'd probably end up eating her own words..she shook her head again, then looked towards the window.

"Good," said Ed, leaning his head back. "I'm going to take a nap..." he said in an almost singsong voice.

"You do that." Felicity said with a slight smile. She then proceeded to walk over to the window quietly, and stared out of it silently. Yawning quite suddenly, she shook her head to fight off sleepiness. No going to sleep now... she thought annoyedly to herself, and rested her head against the glass of the window, which felt quite warm.
