So, which horsie scene is your favourite?
I love the Rohirrim charges, and also in the FotR when Arwen is chased by the Nazgul.

There are so many scenes in LotR that involve horses! You have to like at least one!

I love both those too, especially the charge. And I like the part in ROTK EE where Merry is kicking Stybba trying to get him to move while the rest of the army is trotting past.

I love the charging scene in RotK, the Arwen Scene in FotR, the Helm's Deep scene with Gandalf in TTT and the scene in Minas Tirith with Gandalf, Pippin and Shadowfax in RotK

My favorite scenes would be the attempt to retake Osgiliath, and the Charge of the Rohirrim at the Pelennor Fields.

Oh man, I love the scene when they're riding back to Edoras in the beginning of Return of the King....Ooo! I also love the chase scene with Arwen and the Ringwraiths! That's so cool. I've always wanted to ride across a field like that...of course not being chased..but....you know... Any scene when Eomer is riding *whistles* Not a fangirl really....

Oh! I almost forgot the scene where they are retreating back to Minas Tirith...I love when Gandalf rides out on Shadowfax it's so pretty!
Oh! And the part where Faramir rides out to take back Osgiliath...Hahaha, pretty much any scene with the horses

I love the charge in Return of the King. I know everyone does, but that's the part that stirs my very being! It's such a powerful scene.
I also like Gandalf's ride to Orthanc, when you see him enter Isengard.

ooh, yes. I'd forgotten that one. I also like it when Gandalf rides out of Minas Tirith to fight the Nazgul. I really like the camera angle for some reason. I also love the scene when Aragorn is riding a horse to fight the Wargs and he looks up at Eowyn...

I don't know why, I just do...

Definately the charge of the Rohirrim in RotK when they dash for the lines of orcs. It made me gasp.

For me - all of the massed charges - particularly the scene when the Rohirrim ride out of Dunharrow.

As for one particular horse - it has to be Shadowfax's first appearance - the slow motion along with the fabulous chorus as he canters up to Gandalf always leaves me with goose pimples.

Oh gods, where to start. I love all the horses of the Lord of the Rings, but i especially love the bit where Shadowfax first appears, i remember in the movies when i first saw it the theatre was really quiet and you just hear this massive gasp from me - he was so beautiful! I also love the bit in FotR where the black riders first leave minas morgul, i love that, and the charge of the Rohirrim on the Pelenor fields, and when Gandalf and Eomer's riders come to the rescue at Helm's Deep, that's an awsome scene, and Arwen's chase by the Nazgul. Oh, and when the hobbits are being chased by the nazgul on their way to the Buckleberry Ferry. All the horse scenes really, i love Shadowfax, Brego, Arod, Hasufel, Snowmane (i cried when he died!) Stybba, Asfaloth, gods, i love all the horses, coz i'm a horsie fan girl!

I guess best scene is when the horses of Rohan lined up to move to Minas Tirith. And dismiss at the same time when Theoden yells ride now to Gondor!

I love the scene in which Gandalf whistles and Shadowfax appears. Or the Ride of the Rohirrim! Or Gandalf riding down the Slope to Helm's Deep! They are all so great!
