Yes, that is what I also think... if the parodies offend the content of the story they aren't funny anymore, but just offensive and stupid.

I kind of agree with you FF, I mean some parodies are completely awful, inappropriate, and insulting. But, I have seen some that are good. It just depends on the ones you've seen and read I guess.

Lord of the Rings parodies are as any other form of humor. If they are cleverly written, they are good. If they fall in the same way most humor does and has obscene content, they should be shunned.

I like some of the LOTR parodies, but the two that I think are the worst are slash and Frodo and Sam love each other. it's just a close firendship!
