Ah, that's so sad Hmm, I'm not sure, I got it for Christmas awhile ago, I'm pretty sure my dad bought it at our local music store Hmm, that's really depressing if there isn't anymore Cds avaliable, I really want to buy another one...

My friend burned me a CD, and there's a celtic ong on there. I don't know the title, and there are no words, so I can't look it up on the internet. I guess I'll have to ask my friend.

Anyone heard of Blackmore's Night? I've been listening to sample clips from their albums, so far I like them! I was wondering if anyone owned anything by them and can suggest which cd is their best. Thanks guys!

I'm a sucker for Celtic music! Though I don't have any Celtic blood in me. (Would you consider German Celtic?) I like getting Celtic CDs from the libary and whenever I have time, I listen to Thistle and Shamrock on NPR.

I'm very sure I saw a Chieftains film album on the itunes store, and it had a lot of Treasure Island music. The album is called something like "Chieftains Film Cuts"

I was thinking the other day (when I was getting out of my car) How everyone got into Celtic Music, it's not exactly played on all the mainstream stations or anything....?
So, How did you get into it?
For me, I don't know, seriously...I think it was my parents because they buy lots of celtic music and I liked the sound of it when I was little

Ooh good question. Well, I grew up with the movie Treasure Island, but I never really had much opinion on the music in it. But I guess it was kind of engrained in me at an early age. When I was 10 or so, I started getting into the music of Jennifer Knapp, which is really not Celtic-y at all, but a few of her songs have some bluegrass flavor. Then, two years ago, my friend introduced me to the newgrass band Nickel Creek... which in some ways was similar to Jennifer Knapp, so I liked them a lot. And then last summer my sister introduced me to this band Newcomers Home, which has quite a bit of bluegrass and celtic flavor, and ever since then I've found myself loving bluegrass and celtic music more and more, which eventually led me back to the good ol' Chieftains!
btw, vikingmaiden, I'm looking at the itunes store now. thanks!

Hm...I think I probably got interested through movies, especially LOTR. I liked the Celtic sounds throughout the soundtrack, and Enya's song. I looked up Enya and found out about her and some bands that sound similar, and got some CDs!

That's awesome you guys! I remember my mom's friend gave a copy of Enya's album "The Celts" to my mum on tape (Whoa I feel old ) after hearing it once I confiscated it and never gave it back....Now, I'm a proud Enya fan!
Woohoo! I love hearing everyone's stories! They're so different

I got into Celtic music because of my mother.
She's Irish and she is heavily into everything Celtic. The music is so gorgeous!

I LOVE Blackmore's Night! Huge fan here Hmm... I don't know which of their CDs is the best as I love them all so very much, haha. All their CDs have incredible tracks. Plus all my favorite songs are spread out on all their albums so it's impossible to say which one I prefer.
Although Blackmore's Night are hardly celtic. They're more Folk/Renaissance/Rock

The Chieftains got me into Celtic music at first. I'd just get their cds at the library. Then I started getting into Enya after the first LotR film came out. I'm the only one in my family who really is into Celtic, but I've inspired my friends to listen to it...
