I made my own bow once. It was a stick and a shoe lace, but it worked surprisingly well! I used dowl rods for arrows, and shot them down the hall. They embeded themselves in my parents bedroom walls, but I don't think they've noticed.

you're right. I think the ones I use are made from titanium. I'm assuming that's what tennis rackets are made of, and they seem to be the same material.
but then again, I couldn't tell the difference between plastic and titanium if someone shoved it in my face.
