Dark meandered around the Midgewaters, following the strait course of the East-West road. She set a pace that was suitale to get to Trollshaw in the next one or two days. She would want plenty of time to pass over the last bridge, through Trollshaw, cross the Fords of Bruinen and find Rivendell.

Boromir and Caunion reached an overflowing river. "Great, what do we do now?" Boromir asked to no one in particular. "It's too deep to wade but..."
"We could try to make a rope lines for us to cross over," suggested Caunion.
"But how are we to bring that rope's end over there. We have no bows or arrows among us."
"Yes, but I can swim across the river. Just two ropes on a tree over there and I'll try to swim across. I need to tie myself on one of the ropes but I think I can manage."
"Are you sure?" Boromir asked. "I don't know if this is safe or not. You could be swept off with the current and..."
But Caunion had already tied the two ropes to a tree and leapt into the river. He hoped his daily 50 laps in the pool weren't for a waste.

'I'll take Addurno, he seems loyal to me. And I will take your bow also than, along with your arrows. Than I think you should take this long knife, so we both have two weapons. Well, if we are done here, I think we should leave. We can ride some miles before it gets dark, and the sooner we are in Rivendell the better it is.' said Lhun.

"So, I'm guessing we're all from AU then?" She asked with a smile while getting off Namo.

"Yes, we're all AU-er's here... so, what are we doing just standing around? Let's get out of here!" Larael said somewhat impatiently. She mounted her horse, and galloped up along side Lord Uruvion. The group followed suit and they followed behind Uruvion to the edge of Lothlorien's wood.

Nocturne nodded in agreement and fitted Iawen's embroided saddle onto her darkened back. She struggled to get on and placed the scimtar-like knife into her belt and her staff into the sack. She grabbed her hand-made A-U flag and fitted it into a strap on the saddle, letting it flow freely.
She only rode once in her life before so she wasn't very good, but Iawen seemed to be patient with her. She observed the night's landscape as she made her way further into the shadows alongside Lhun.

Eruraina had just taken up the end of the grop, and kept quiet. Now she spoke up, "What about Chyanne? My little mare here? She isn't exactly mine! I rent her from a stable, how would we get her across?" She held the mare's reins, and gave her a hug, looking at the group...

Lhunardaien and Nocturne rode side by side, calmly chatting about little things that didn't matter much. But it was a good way to know eachother a bit better, and it made the time go faster. After a while, Lhun asked:'Nocturne, would you like some bread with cheese? I made it this morning, and it is still fresh.. Would you like some?'

(First of all, Eowyn did NOT kill the nazgul in the books!! >< It was Merry!! Poor Merry becomes so forgotten! Good grief.... anyway.... I CAN'T KEEP UP!!! Listen people, I have a job, I have horses I train, I have cattle I raise, I CAN'T be here constantly! Now, I am going to beg you to keep it slow, I can barely post when I don't have a clue what's going on. I am considering asking the posts allowed to be kept down to 2, or I am going to have to leave.... Another thing, Elegost, is it ok if Idril is the best shot? I did actually personally win state championship for archers, but I'm not asking to take over, it's just future reference.)

Idril stepped forward towards Eru. "Here, I can get your horse across. I've trained several horses in my young years and have made it over a few flooded rivers with mine, and Princess here has done a few on lead line. She's a spirited little mare and she should make it just fine."

"I'm not very fond of cheese... I'll just have bread if that's ok, please." Nocturne answered back, letting a hand free from the saddle and letting her hair loose; feeling the gust of wind blowing her brunette strands.

'Sure you can have bread without the cheese! here you are, I hope you like it!' Lhun said with a big smile on her face, happy because she could keep her own cheese.

[Sorry Idril! We just had to hurry, we need to be in Rivendell by tomorrow and it gets difficult to make the plot progress with a limited number of posts. I, for one, will try to go slower from now on :)]

(Wait, I just realized this but if you travelling from Gondor or Rohan to Rivendell, do you have to cross the river Bruinen?)
Boromir stood there for a moment and began to laugh when he just realized something. He called to Caunion, "Come back. You don't have to cross the river. We can just go around." Caunion swam back, looking furious and wet. He was still fuming as they went around the stream to get to Rivendell.

[I'm sorry we're going fast Idril, but I think 2 posts isn't quite enough. And being in this RP doesn't require you to be here every minute...some of us just don't have anything better to do. :P
Also...does it really matter who the best archer is? ;)]

Throughout this entire discussion of how to get across the river, Gwenneth had merely sat to the side, her head empty of ideas. Gandalf had come and sat next to her.
"You're not going to help them?" She asked him nervously. Gwenneth wasn't quite convinced that an A-Uer's idea would be as good as Gandalf's.
"If I am needed," was all he said. He was smiling at the group, and she could see a small hint of approval.
"Gandalf..." Gwenneth began, then faltered. He turned his head and fixed his eyes on hers, which were still facing the group all talking at once with ideas and suggestions. "Gandalf, do you think we'll have much trouble before reaching Rivendell? You know, with the Raiths?"
Gandalf sighed, looking back out at the river. "We may. These are beginning to be dark times." He caught her eyes. "But you have friends, Gwenneth. There is always safety in numbers." At this he winked, then continued. "And I can see you are a close group. They will take care of you, and you of them."

(That's what I mean, Gwen, you guys have nothing better to do, so you use your 3 posts immediately, and you're so far ahead of me that I cannot keep up properly. Even you yourself said "Whoa, Idril is with us, too?" clearly showing that I am not able to keep up enough to participate. I'm afraid I shall have to drop out.... P.S. I was just teasing a bit about the archery, I really don't care all that much....)

(Idril, don't drop out, your type of writing is so cool! just say that you were trailing along with us staying quiet, or something like that... Thats what I do if I'm behind!)

Eruraina sighed, apperently they all ignored her. She sat down next to Gandalf and Gwenneth. "begging of dark times? You don't know the least of it... um... Gandalf's right! If you ever need help, just ask, even though... I don't know what me, a twelve year old girl, could do to help..."

((Good time jump :D ))

Luthien rode quietly. Her earlier excitement had settled down, and the calm Elven wood seemed almost too peaceful to break with talking. Finally, though, she had to say something. "So, how did you all end up here? I was just on AU, then walked through my bedroom door, and I was in Lothlorien."
