How off from Tolkien are you talking about? Meaning, have you tried to convey how you feel at the end of the movie or have you tried to summarize the movie?
What Nie and I are looking for in your lyrics is something that finalizes the movie experience and summarizes the film. If you've managed to do that without using lines from Tolkien, go ahead.

But there still is a week left if you want to tweak anything.

this is coming from the top of my head becasue ive been pondering about this contest and havent thought of anything and now i realize i shouldnt ponder i should just write

The road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Bilbo, on his first adventure
Found a ring
Frodo, on his first adventure
Has to destroy that ring
On his quest he was joined by
3 Hobbits
2 Men
1 Dwarf, 1 Elf, 1 Wizard
Together those nine
Strived to defeat
The nine of evil

At Moria they lost
A wise and powerful Wizard
He fought against
Shadow and Flame,he fell
Down deep into the darkness
He fought so hard against

The power of the ring
Has not effected Frodo
But did effect a man
A man of Gondor
Strong at heart,
But weak against the temptation
He tried to take the ring
He did not gain he lost
He lost his life

The nine broke
2 hobbits were taken away
By the evil of Isengaurd
2 hobbits went to Mordor
To find a way to destroy
The one ring of dark power
The 3 remaining fighters
Went to go find the innocent hobbits
That were taken by the evil

Will they make it?
Will their battle be won?
Will the darkness take over
And depress everyone?
We don't know now,
All we have to do is hope
