Meleth paused and she looked down at him as if she was about to make a cutting comment, but abruptly snapped her mouth shut and coolly took a seat across from Tramius, giving him a look that said very plainly that she was not doing it merely because he told her to.

Meleth's face suddnely went almost completely devoid of emotion. She paused before replying, and when she did her voice was different. "I was raised in Mirkwood until I was - well - perhaps fourteen of fifteen in your years." She cut off her explanation abrubtly and did not say much more. Obviously something untoward had happened after that time in her life. She looked as though she were remembering something she had tried to forget.

Meleth smiled a little, suddenly acting as though her small lapse hadn't happened, and nodded, pulling the blade out. "Aye, it was a gift from the Elven Lord Thranduil." There were intricate runes curling around the base of the blade, and it shimmered slightly. With a blue light. Meleth frowned, bemused, and then realization dawned as the light grew brighter and more intense. The elven-blade glowed at the approach of orcs. Meleth sprang to her feet and sheathed the sword, looking out into the darkness, where red eyes gleamed. "Orcs!" she cried, whipping out her bow.

Cole admired the blade, unaware of what Meleth was saying. He shook his head and sprung to his feet. "Huh?" He clumsily drew his sword and spun in a circle. Taking a deep breath, he tried to relax himself. He wanted to actually help them this time.
