Avantasia is one of my favorite bands of all-time (huge thanx to Raivynn for introducing me to them ). Favorite songs would be "Farewell", "Chalice Of Agony", "Breaking Away", "Anywhere", "Avantasia", "Neverland", "No Return", "Reach Out For The Light" and "The Tower". lol I probably forgot tons now, haha. I have both their albums - absolutely outstanding! Glad you finally discovered the greatness that is Avantasia

Dimmu Borgir are black/death metal. I like em, a lot better than most bands of that genre.

I'm gonna use this post to obsess about Turisas again.

Yesterday I got the chance of listening to some songs of Turisas. AWESOME! Now, I can see why you are obsess about them

Honestly though..it's one of those albums that knocks yer socks off when you hear it and the more you listen to it, the more you like it.

You'll love Edguy too. They are seriously brilliant and Tobias has one of the best voices in Metal.

Hmm, I think I prefer Avantasia to Edguy. As for Dimmu Borgir, they're great for their genre. I blame my friend for infecting me with the whole Black/Death metal genre. And now I can't get enough of Ensiferum! I hope HMV has Iron and/or Ensiferum. Last time I went they had an actually well stocked metal section with quite a few of my 'regular' bands. Hail to Pagan/Folk Metal! I've been listening to the genre exclusively this past few days. Mainly Ensiferum, Fintroll, Tyr (excellent folk metal band from the Faroese), and Skyforger (man they are great! Thank yea mine Metal Valkyries!).

Ah I love Ensiferum as well. I got really hooked on Lai Lai Hei and would listen to it over an over. I don't have any of there cd's yet, but I'm workin on it.
Tyr are pretty good too, I haven't heard much of them. But I'm gonna do a big downloading session and they're on my list of 'to gets'.

I love Edguy..I think I'm just addicted to Tobi's voice. They're just such good fun and have a sense of humour that you don't always find in metal bands. They're also top quality live. Avantasia are more grandiose, but both albums are amazing. I wonder if Tobi is planning on another Avantasia project? Probably not, but it would still be interesting to see what he'd do next with it.

Have you checked out Turisas, Erethror? They are awesome and if you haven't I think you'll really like them.

Turisas? I'll check 'em out

Well they didn't have Ensiferum, so instead I got Inhuman Rampage ! Yaaahhh! And funny thing, the slowest song on the CD (Trail of Broken Hearts) is my favourite... A little ironic seeing as I got it for the speed!! And I also got Cellador's debut album 'Enter Deception' a great album. Next time I'm gonna get the Avantasia album, how can you beat a Metal Opera?

And I found a great new Slavic Pagan/Folk band - Pagan Reign. They hail from Russia, and wow! Slavs Arise I think is my favourite song so far.

Inhuman Rampage is a great album. I love Revolution Deathsquad..awesome song.
I've heard a few good things about Cellador, I'll need to check em out as well as Pagan Reign.
Are they anything like Skyforger?
