Celuns eyes widened and her mouth dropped.
"ARE YOU KIDDING! YOU'RE TELLING ME I WAS WRONG!? Uncle, she was gonna eat me, you were no help in keeping her from it and you're telling me I was wrong for saving myself from that, that THINGS fangs!" Celun was outraged. Her eyes were cold as ice as she glared at Legolas. She turned on her heels and ran as fast as she could from her Uncles presence.

"She didn't choose her heratige, but she did have a choice in her attitude. Threatening or not, I AM her niece, whether she likes it or not, she shouldn't be like that. To anyone for that fact! And YOU, you did have a choice to marry her." Celun couldn't be mad at her uncle, not long anyway, she soon began to cry and just let him hug her.

Scenes from long ago rushed through his head, a jumble of faces, the flash of silver, the splatter of blood, and his wife cradling a child, then shoving it into the parents arms, their looks of disgust, and then Rhan, running off, leading black clad soldiures away from them all. The prince bit his lip, and thought of his two elder brothers, and even at one point, his own uncle and father ahd seemed to hate him- of course, his uncle really had hated him, and had had him beaten, telling him it was what his father had wanted but... Still.
His niece needed not know what had transpüired so many years ago.

The elf glared right back. "You did not ask, but I gave it anyway. I do not apologize. Your family problems do not concern me - did I ever inquire regarding them? If I did it was certainly not because I had any interest whatsoever." Her jaw was set obstinately. "This council may decide the fate of Middle-Earth!" she snapped, eyes flashing, "And the only explanation you can give is that Lord Elrond is 'sick', and Prince Legolas, you have not even given me a reason for your absence. I cannot explain to the council if it is not explained to me first." She stood resolute, obviously having no intention of leaving until she got what she wanted.

From there shadows there came a low chuckle "Come now children... And you, come and see how ill he is , if you do not believe our explanations. He is ill, so come in, and see excactly how ill he really is." The half-elf moved with inhuman/elf speed to the door, leaning on its handle "Though I would beg you hurry, the light is... Well, light, if you forgive my bluntness."
Legols rubbed his forehead, and laid a hand on his nieces shoulder, propelling her gently nto te dim room, and beconning for the woman to follow "I would apologise Celun, its not right, even if you do not mean it. Rhan has done more for you, than you will ever imagien." the prince whispered softly in Celuns ear.
